Join the new world

Hello, eNew Zealand!
After over a year of waiting around, I will be running for CP of my RL homeland, New Zealand today for the April 2012 election. If I succeed, I will be the fourth RL Kiwi to win the presidential elections in eNZ (After Calbe, Crusadercarl and Xanthar Zaiban) supported by the Peace and Prosperity Party

Best party in the country, hands down.

Why I'm running
I've been thinking about doing this for a very long time now, but was worried I might not have time to do it. Now is as good a time as any, so I am putting my name up to lead this great country for the month of April 2012.

So what's the plan?

Chillin' down in the Pacific

The primary objective of my term will be to return NZ to a stable homeland. Ideally, this means keeping all four of our regions in our hands, and an end to the mess we have had going on with Argentina. Other diplomatic arrangements may be needed to end the threat from Argentina, but we will see how things go. Region swaps are possible and have been discussed by the diplomats in recent weeks. There is still work to be done with this, since the leadership will be changing in Argentina, Chile and Australia as well.
Since the Q2 training update, as you should know by now there is no more training bonus from having a Natural Enemy. This means there is no need for us to look for training wars beyond current defence needs. With this in mind, I would like to shift our focus to help our many allies overseas who need to regain their regions. In the last week we have already seen change in this direction

Recently there has been some diplomacy going on between us and our American neighbours regarding long-term solutions. I will work with the MOFA team and relevant people in Chile and Argentina to figure out exactly what is to happen, and how to do it.
We also have a lot of countries on our MPP list that need our help to get back on the map, as well as commitments to the EPIC alliance that we can put some energy into.
Of course, we cannot forget our friends over in Chile and Australia who have been a great help in defending us in recent times. Chile in particular is stepping more onto our side of the international lines lately and so they have our full support in their defence. I think shifting our relations focus to one more close to home is a good idea. Chile, Australia, Indonesia, Peru and Argentina are of more significance to our region than the European powers.
Australia in particular seems to have slipped off our radar a little bit, so I'll have a go figuring out what they're up to

Cabinet

New and improved pun

I don't have a full list of cabinet for this month but there will probably be a few familiar faces around. Some people I have in mind at the moment are Valentyme, Koska de STRAH and Ronell (Windvry) I will try to expand on this and confirm in the few days after elections.
At this stage I am expecting to be away from eRepublik for 2 days after the elections to visit my family or easter - In this time Ronell/Windvry will be my acting vCP and all other current ministers can maintain their positions until I confirm my staff in a few days.
