[Edjukayshun] Killing you cheaply

Day 2,450, 03:46 Published in South Africa South Africa by Miyagiyoda

eRepublik is a little thin in the underpants if you play core goals only. It is also very demoralising. You see, Damage is king. And for you to be king you need to spend a lot of Gold or be very old. Or is that really true?

If you look at the Weekly Leaderboards there are two categories:

1. Damage (Damage Dealer or Fighter)

2. Opponents Defeated (Slayer)

The Slayer medal is prettier. After all, Caesar wore a laurel wreath.
Which soldier do you prefer: the gorilla who makes big bangs or the chap who moes down more foes? You know which one Plato likes more, SO the other must be the right answer.
Justifications aside, this article serves an economic purpose to younger players or those simply lagging. One of the easiest ways to make money with fighting is the Freedom Fighter medal. You travel the world killing people for Gold.

The key is killing. Your Daily order requires kills. Your Freedom Fighter medal requires kills. Not damage. While damage wins wars, killing fulfills missions and awards.

Not all opponents are equal. If you have eRepublik Stuff++ installed its easier to see. At least half your opponents can be killed in as many hits with a cheaper weapon as with an expensive one.

If your opponent has a similar strength to you but less energy or a smaller weapon, you need less hits to kill them. The damage formula means you can get away with a lower firepower often.
Compare Weapon Quality (Firepower)'s Cost or Cost per Hit

Q1 (FP20) costs 0,08cc or 0,080cc per hit.

Q2 (FP40) costs 0,15cc or 0,075cc per hit.

Q3 (FP60) costs 0,27cc or 0,090cc per hit.

Q4 (FP80) costs 0,80cc or 0,200cc per hit.

Q5 (FP100) costs 1,66cc or 0,332cc per hit.

Q6 (FP120) costs 3,30cc or 0,550cc per hit.

Q7 (FP200) costs 9,50cc or 0,950cc per hit.

If you can kill someone with 2 hits using a Q2 weapon; why use a Q7 if it also takes 2 hits? Spend 0,16cc vs 1,90cc. Why overkill if you are not making a Hollywood blockbuster?

I take it further. If a kill needs more than 4 hits with a Q7, then consider using a Bazooka for a 1 hit kill. Its probably worth the extra hits you gain.

The last battle 25 kills I did broke down as follows:
Q0 0 hits
Q1 0 hits
Q2 7 hits
Q3 0 hits
Q4 6 hits
Q5 5 hits
Q6 15 hits
Q7 24 hits

It therefore cost me 34,44cc instead of 54,15cc in weapons for 25 kills. The saving of 19,72cc is nearly 60% the cost of the next 25 kills.

You WILL get less rank. Rank is of questionable importance since it contributes less than 5% of total damage. Do you really need it and it's meagre rewards or do you prefer cheaper fights per day (and something intelligent to do while clicking the fight button a lot)?
More kills.
Same food.
Same energy.
Same experience.
Less rank.
Faster medals.
More Gold.

AND you help give the weapons market value outside of building rockets.

Frankly, after this brilliance, I am surprised Plato doesn't award victory in Div I to the side who kills the most opponents (to drive activity) or have a Division 5layer in which everyone competes that is won by kills and scores 7 points.

Amandla, Awethu.
Power to the people. Create your destiny. Act.

TL😉R: 5layers is players too.
