Part I

||| EDEN trial and membership |||

"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers"

Phase 1. The cause - A severe cause that gets a country to want to leave an opposing alliance and join our Brotherhood
Phase 2. Contact - First contacts with members of the Brotherhood HQ and some of the Government officials of EDEN member countries
Phase 3. Summit on trial membership - Supreme Commander invokes an EDEN Summit in which country high end officials will vote on the trial membership of the opposing country. The trial starts when the summit has YES from ALL EDEN members.
Phase 4. The trial - 3 months of trial, in which the leaders get accustomed to each other and regular citizens learn to live and fight side by side. They are granted access to EDEN MoFA and military channels. They don't have the right to participate in summits, to vote for EDEN HQ or EDEN membership.
Phase 5. Summit on EDEN membership - The Supreme Commander holds a 2nd EDEN summit, at least 3 months after the last summit that had the trialship on it's agenda. ALL countries must vote YES for the trial country to become one of the Brothers.

Part II

||| Equality, Fraternity, Equilibrium |||

"For he to-day that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother"

From the steps described before, Phase 4 will consist of 1 month and not 3 months for Turkey.

All of the countries that wanted to join and eventually joined EDEN got through a hard 3 month trial to become an EDEN member, a Brother. We take

A. China as an example, a country that even though was fully proEDEN and we were fighting for them as they were fighting for us for months. It was the time when Hungary and Serbia had them under occupation. Still, they were voted into EDEN after more than 3 months of trial. EDEN was under PEACE's boots but we were not rushing things. We wanted a true Brother.

B. Italy. The old timers might reminiscent of the Greek-Italian conflict over the grain regions. Greece wanted a high grain region for it's self (they had only high iron) to get it's economy running on a higher gear. Italy just left PEACE/Phoenix and wanted to come closer to EDEN. Their elite was still proPHX and highly opposing the change. It took 2 months just to have Greece accept Italy's trial membership. Then another 3 months of actual trial. They took many bullet (deletion from the map) for EDEN making us for ever grateful for their sacrifices. We wanted a true Brother and we got one.

C. Bulgaria. They didn't want FYROM into PHX. Serbia went over their head and got FYROM into PHX. We got to a month of daily negotiations, proEDEN propaganda written by Bulgarians and tons of Skype and IRC hours of chatting to explain how EDEN works and what we are all about. We offered them the chance to be a Brother. But of course, after 3 months if trial membership. They had many soldiers located in Russia, a PHX member at that time, that still fought against EDEN. They needed more than 3 months to re-conciliate with their own Bulgarian brethren that fought for EDEN. We wanted a true Brother and we got one.

D. Portugal. Needless to say, they went through a 3 month trial membership. We don't discriminate, we don't grant preferential treatment. We wanted a true Brother and we got one.

E. Turkey. Just 1 month of trial. We just want their damage and we hope we will get it. And so Pandora's box is opened, once Turkey will join EDEN after just 1 month of trial I can say that it's a middle finger to all of the countries before that joined the Brotherhood. They have soldiers that are and will fight against some of the EDEN countries for a long time. There was no time to find and give solution for any major conflicts between EDEN countries and Turkey. As soon as Turkey will join EDEN with full rights, EDEN will be as ONE and ONE will be as EDEN. An alliance built for winning without thinking at the social consequences, not a Brotherhood.

Never change the rules that works for so long because you might find the Gates of Hell just opening in Pandora's box.

And it feels right that all GEA countries should be given EDEN membership as soon as 1 month of trial expires. What is normal treatment for a fellow soon-to-become "brother" should be the normal treatment, without discrimination for the other soon-to-become brothers.

Albania, India, Netherlands welcome to EDEN.

Don't get me wrong, I don't oppose Turkey's will to join EDEN but it should be, as EVERY time before, on the terms of the Brotherhood.

The first rule of thump is that all Brothers are equal and will be treated as equals. From start to finish.

Part III

||| The work, the balance, the wisdom |||

"Be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition"

The damage is done. The box is open. The choice has been made. Those who took this choice will have to work 10 times over for this process to go smoothly for most of the citizens that feel different to have a change of heart. I can't say this more euphemistically than possible. They took this responsibility and there is nothing more to say.

I see not the problem in the wished outcome but in the path chosen to get there.

Pandora's box was open with the Romanian-Serbian peace and it that led to a crisis within Cromania. It took months of "gentling the condition" to rough out the untrimmed edges that rose from this. My hope lies in the balance of "work" that replaced "wisdom".
