Hello Belgium community,
The Second week of my term as gone by and the government is still hard at work, from domestic affairs to international affairs. Work is being put it and I am very pleased with the awesome output of results.
International Affairs
Belgium's ATO wipe Policy
Belgium along with others was recently liberated from Poland due to Poland being divided into many resistance wars across their territories . Since Poland will be very busy this upcoming month and does not have land across Europe. The Belgian government has asked our ally to the north {The United Kingdom} for assistance! It is a win- win for both countries. A Natural Enemy law proposal will be underway soon by Belgium, Please understand to fight for the United Kingdom to keep Belgium safe. The United Kingdom Country President also published a article mentioning the UK-Belgium: Wipe located here.
Sirius
Since the last update Asteria and Sirius have been established in game and both have announced their Alliance Head Quarters for this term: Asteria And Sirius. Besides from Asteria and Sirius a third alliance will most likely be created, Belgium is glad to support our friends in Sirius and in the third alliance but will maintain a Pro Sirius stance.
New Belgian National Army Commander
The old Commander of The Belgian National Army Cika Nikola96, has resigned. His services to BNA and Belgium are appreciated. If you have not already seen on the forums the vote for the new Commander has already been passed. e Vladimir will be the new commander. The Belgian National Army is the State's Military unit for soldiers over 1250 strength and is Belgium's strongest Military unit. I congratulate e Vladimir on becoming Commander and wish him all the best of luck.
Domestic Affairs
New Citizen Message
After the long debate ended, a new citizen message had been proposed as seen in the law proposal. The New Citizen message includes a French and Dutch translation and well as many useful links such as Awesome Boot Camp and the NHS program. Although the message had to be cut short due to the 1500 limit, it he contents are still the same and all the nessecary Information is included. The MoHA published a nice article about the New Citizen message and future plans for the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Party President Elections
Party President elections were around the corner I can happily say the are over with great success. "Res Belgica is now back to its original self and is no longer PTOed and in Liberation Front we have also seen great success . We can say that with this victory over the PTO we did a huge step forward in liberating our country for good. However, they were able to take LION so we must be careful." The Ministry of National Security published a article about the elections with various links, and information pertaining to the electrons and a replacement legislative branch.
Recent functions of the game
The Ministry for Education has published a guide about more recent functionalities in the game which include information about determination and the New Valentine-missions "Cupids Revenge" the article is very helpful.So far the MoE has published this guide in French, and Dutch. A English version has also been published, it can be found here. A link was also set up by the Ministry of Education where any player (New or Old) can ask any question they might have and the MoE team will answer soon. Forum Moderators
The time to renew the term of Forum Moderators will be approaching us in the upcoming days. Forum Moderators are responsible for reviewing reported posts, and managing and issuing warnings and related forum bans. Currently the previous moderators from last term MCKitkat, The Valeyard and Chihiroh will be continuing their role. The debate will be voted on in the upcoming days.
Income and Revenue
Our Ministry of Finance published a lovely article about our Income and Revenue. "Throughout our prolonged wipe, our income had obviously declined due to the loss in tax revenue. Previously, major tournaments like the Epic Warfare Tournament helped to fund our costs, but as of late our finances are around 376,000 CC and 450 gold. As you can see, our income has jumped up over the past couple of days which is due to the resistance wars that have sprung up across Poland, leaving all three of Belgium's regions having been liberated. As a result, all the money collected in taxes now goes to Belgium only."

I have read it, like I often do with most of eDutch articles and I found something very interesting to share with you. Wherein, he was writing about the current political situation, crisis and their internal political fights, there in eNetherlands.
What is most interesting and appealing for us, is this following paragraph where they are talking about this greatly selfbeloved supposed friend of eNL and very famous international globetrotter, PTO-er and troller; Konrad Neumann http://www.erepublik.com/en/citizen/profile/244112
He caused general consternation, distraction and all sort of troubles in the eNetherlands National forum with its comments and its avatar. Here is the partial transcript of what happened of which I copied the most interesting part:

van Spijck does not release a statement or comment on that forum-thread.
He does however open another thread to request removal of Konrad Neuman’s access to congress discussions.

I think you should brush up on your English as it states the real problem is with van Spjick as people lost faith in his actions and deeds and as you said

Other citizens are worried about van Spjick's sudden lost of faith in the eNL and his desire to move. Your quote later goes on and states it was van Spjick himself not the community that seeks my removal of expat status. So in the end you just made a lot of good cases against van Spjick... ^__^
Maybe you are right about the fact that Dutch people were loosing faith in our friend an his actions, but my comment wasn't really about him, but about you. I wanted to show that you are not so beloved and popular over there like you tried to present yourself on several occasions. But it doesn't matter at all, as you are always trying to find needle in a straw poll.

What are we thinking; nobody has ever asked us. They are deciding solely and we are supposed to agree with their decisions. And when I said we have "Fifth Column" in eBelgium and pointed out who they are; I got infringement points from the Administrators. That's how it goes.
You are not the eBelgian population, you are a simple citizen so you do have no right to speak for the population but just for yourself !
MCKitKat, it is true that the treaty with Poland has been done by the President (Maryam) without the consent of the population. And for such a important matter, having such a deep impact on Belgium, the way it has been handled with the population was a real shame !
Maryam is a nice lady, but that was one of the hugest mistake I've ever seen (not the treaty itself, but the way belgians were kept out of the decision).
I said it then, and I keep thinking exactly the same.

Before you start making accusations you should get your facts straight. Because in fact of the 5 people that migrated to the UK recently only one of them was a previous member of the Active Security Council during the wipe, being Kiyonori.
In regards to your second sentence, at the moment it is a democracy, a democracy is a form of government in which all eligible citizens participate equally either directly or indirectly through elected representatives. Th Belgian population have appointed me as country president so a democracy does exist. And I do plan as seen in congress, adding a replacement congress.
Lastly , you should be familiar with How the country president seat goes. the ebe population voted me into office, and Part of my plan is to keep Belgium wiped.
Fail
My biggest concern is about this UK taking place of Poland.
We know many old belgians are in UK. And these players have clear opinions.
The deal with Poland was clear : once the elected belgian President, whoever it is, asks to let belgian regions be free, it has to be done.
So now... What if a elected President of Belgium tells UK to free our regions, but that these "UK citizens" (before belgians) refuse because it doesn't fit to their points of view ?
I think it's a really big concern, and the situation is so polarized that I'm afraid the "anti-PTO" will never be able to accept to follow the treaty as it should if the President is not "one of them".
I'm rather certain MrWonka took his precautions. Aside from that, the UK is not as strong as Poland and with a bit of effort it is even likely for you to win the resistance wars you would want to win.
What worries me more is that you keep electing Presidents that are in favor of a wipe and then complain because they don't want eBelgium to have regions.
Maybe because most of the belgians don't like PTOs but they want to fight it by other means than with a long term wipe. Unfortunately, they don't have many options when it's up to the elections.
So yes, they won't vote for people they see as threat... but they will go on criticizing the only other path that we present to them.
So far, no real moderate player has come to the elections. No one who was concerned by the PTOs, but who proposed something else than the wipe. To my opinion, that's what belgians desire. Most belgians players criticizing are probably not as polarized as their government, and that's smart.
So do you think we should to be black or white ? I don't agree at all with the "you are for the wipe or you are with the PTOers"... That's how some think and it's a pity (and not a proof of intelligence).
Is that so difficult to understand ?
No, it's not difficult to understand Jeiry. What I find much more difficult to understand is that there are several political players who insist on criticizing but refuse to stand up for their ideals and design a different solution. After so many months, the energy put into criticizing could surely have brought a better idea.
The reality is that all the different ideas which had been proposed have been tried before the wipe. The reality is that people you depict as radicals are not radical at all but people who have tried every option before chosing the idea that was the least popular.
Now I can see, that this wipe has a bigger meaning! Belgium will become the UK colony!
Maybe you can succeed this month in your attempt, but true Belgium people will not accept that!
