[eBanana Blog]I know things now

A little theme music

A while ago Nohjis invited some of his friends and associates from eRepublik on a journey to the fabled eBanana Republik of eNohjium. Those of us who accepted received one-way tickets, beachside accommodations, and a bit of mystery. As I think this journey is drawing to an end, it’s time to share some things I’ve learned.

The eUK has gone completely bananas.

It has had that potential for some time, but this last few weeks has made it clear that the whole eCountry is quite bananas. They have had a banana government, have led in forming the Banana Alliance, and seem to be having fun doing it. I wish them well on this continuing adventure.

Minions can be very nice, but you have to take care of them.

It’s still not entirely clear what happened here, but perhaps that explains why the storied Q10 weapons factory is not operational.

There are some things that cannot be destroyed unless we choose to let it happen.

There was talk of treasure here. I’m still not sure exactly what it was, but I have found a treasure I had lost, and that is community. Some of those here on this island have been part of my eJourney for a long time, and they will always have a place in my heart. We may have our little squabbles, but we always know who is on our side. That is a part of the game we create for ourselves, and nobody can take it away from us unless we let them.

Every journey must end in order for a new one to begin.

I’m grateful for the people and places who have been part of my eJourney so far. A few, I have grown to love; some have maddened me; many have taught me things it was good to know. However, part of life is letting go of the past, enjoying the present, and being ready for the future.

No matter how full your heart may be, there is always room for one more.

As I enter this new phase of my eLife, I am finding a special companion is more and more at my side and in my thoughts. He’s playful and kind. He listens to my late-night musings, and I mean really listens, even when I’m saying things he doesn’t particularly want to hear. He has been a true and faithful and patient friend. He regards my friends as his own. He is strong and respects my strength. He makes me smile. Okay, he did pursue a scorched earth policy when I suggested redecorating his tent (eBelgians who remember the term Procuste and I shared in the MoHA offices may guess why), but nobody’s perfect. All in all, with the 14th approaching, a lot of guys could take some lessons from him. A few of you know who I’m talking about. Others may guess. What will the future bring? We’ll just have to wait for the next chapter to see…

Now, if I only knew how we’re supposed to get off this island…
