Hello eIreland,
In addition to being Saint Patrick's Day, today also marks the three year anniversary of Éire Aonair.

It's amazing to think that it's been that long. I can still remember those first days... In December of 2010 the nation had lost everything after an attack by the eUK that left us wiped without any regions. For whatever reason Plato had set the game so that we lost all of our political parties and organizations, another one of his famous "features"... it was a disaster like we've never seen before or since... and yet...

Out of those ashes of the old republic our modern nation was born. After we were forced to work together to survive and re-build, we founded the Irish Army and forgot old political rivalries... at least until we had time to forge new ones. 😛 It was a kind of blessing in disguise some might say... rebuilding a nation with the experience and foresight of a veteran community... and so in fact, we would become a model nation of sorts.

A few new political parties were founded to give eIreland a method of government. Who remembers Sons of Eireann and the Fenian Brotherhood? But for me at least, none of these new parties felt like a fit for my political mindset. So it would be a few months after the wipe of December 2010, that a party was founded that did fit me (no wonder, since I founded it).

December, January, February, March. And on March 17th of 2011, Éire Aonair was born. The rest is history... we founded a new party based not on political ideology, but on the strength of diverse opinions, mutual respect, and cooperation. A party that asked its members to be at the same time independent minded and also team players. We started lots of great projects... a few that I believe really helped shape modern eIreland... even though in those days there were only 15 or so of us.

No matter how small a group of citizens is, they can make a difference if they make that their goal. Not just to rise to power, but to better our community and our nation. That's what I believed helped ÉA to survive and stay relevant. That's what I hope we continue to strive for.

Thank You

A big thank you to all of the great citizens who have contributed to Éire Aonair over the last three years. Everyone who has put in the work to keep the spirit alive, even those who were never members but always showed good faith in us - I personally owe you my thanks. This community has always been supportive of ÉA, and it will always be this party's purpose to return the favour.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone. Oh and, be safe. 😉

Cheers,
