[DoE] What's with Political Parties?
Department of Citizen Affairs
Today we have the awesome opportunity to hear from one of our new additions here at the DoE. Enterawesome has been hard at work on some new articles for all of you new players out there, so look forward to seeing more from her.
Hello Readers!
This edition of the Department of Education newspaper will be about political parties!
Here the top 5 parties currently in the eUSA
1) What exactly is a political party?
In the simplest way I can put it, they are the foundation of eRepublik’s political system. If you want to become president you must be in a party, to run for congress you must be in a party, to do anything political you must be in a party.
To join a party, simply access the 'Community' tab from the main menu and clicking on the 'My Party' link. If you’re not in a party you will be confronted with two options: join or create a party.
This is the message you will be greeted with if you’re not in a party
In order to create a party you must have 40 gold and be at least level 16. This is not recommended if you’re new. For now, join one. All you need to be is level 13 and you can join any you like!
There are many different kinds of parties and I recommend exploring until you feel which one is right for you. You can easily get involved in your party by talking to your Party Leader.
The Party Leader is found here. I added a big arrow and a circle for your convenience.
😁
Your party leader will be really excited you contacted them and will give you all the information you will need to get involved. After getting involved in the Party community it is up to you to decide if it is the right party for you or not.
2) Why are Parties so Important?
As mentioned above, they are the gateway to your political career but more importantly they decide A LOT of things for the country.
A. They can put members in congress
This picture shows that the Federalist party has 9 congress members
During congress elections (the 25th of every month) you are allowed to vote for a party. The party can put as many congress members equal to the % amount of votes. For example if Party “A” had 10 out of 100 votes, they would be able to select 10% of eAmerica’s congress with members that the party president chooses.
B. They can endorse a president
When a party endorses a president they are pretty much showing their support for that particular candidate. This has a big effect on the number of votes a president candidate can get, especially from having an endorsement from a high ranking political party.
C. They can choose a presidential candidate and endorse them
Most parties vote on the field of candidates to determine their endorsement. Generally, a popular member of a party who runs for CP will get their own party's endorsement. So if you’re in good standing with your party and involved in its community you have a chance to become President one day! Each party usually has its own forums and has elections there. For example, if you wanted to become President, your name would be put on a list with other party members wanting to become president. Then the party members will vote for the candidates and usually the one with the most amount of votes will be selected to represent their party.
Now! *Wags finger* Don’t just jump into a party and waste away there. Get involved, get to know people, get to know your party. It’s fun and rewarding and just an all-around win for you.
If you have any questions please ask us at the Department of Education, we are here to help you with anything you may need.
Have a wonderful time in your stay in eRepublik.
❤

Find away to fight .... and only fight.
