[DoE] Resistance Wars

Day 2,039, 05:46 Published in USA USA by Department of Citizen Affairs

With eUSA facing occupation due to the plethora of enemies that we currently face in the New World, this DoE article continues educating its readerbase about the military module and today, seeks to inform its readers about resistance wars.

While the previous article covered methods of war employed by governments, Resistance Wars are truly a tool of the people and can be started by anyone, irrespective of their political position or citizenship.

Initiation

Ten citizens are required to move to the desired territory to be liberated, and to then “support” the Resistance for a Resistance war to be initiated. The cost of supporting a RW is 1k CC per citizen. The territory must be conquered for more than 24 hours for this to take place. Those citizens who lack adequate funds to support a RW can simply “vote” for it to take place, free of cost, and still be informed via eRepublik once it starts.

An important fact to bear in mind is that it takes 24 hours to start another resistance war after one has failed. Also, after supporting a failed Resistance War, you cannot support another one for 7 days.

Fighting

You need to move to the occupying country to fight in a resistance war. It is not necessary to move to the territory being liberated to fight in that particular RW, i.e. you can fight in multiple RWs against the same occupying country from the same location.

The only difference in the fighting you must choose a side you want to battle for. The side is chosen from the war page as shown above.

Implications for eUSA

eUSA risks a complete wipe in the very-near future, with seven countries attacking us. Resistance Wars will be one of the methods employed to free ourselves from our invaders. Coordinating US Resistance Wars against these TWO nations with those in their other colonies to cut off their bonuses will be monumental to eUS success. Serbia, for example, the initiator of this attack upon the United States can be RWd in France, Italy, Croatia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and eUSA itself. A large number of RWs, strategically opened, can be difficult to handle for even the most dogged of aggressors.

We hope that understanding these ingame mechanics make your ingame experience easier and more enjoyable. Please remember to post in the comments if you’d like the DoE to cover a particular subject.
