[Derp4CP] The End of the Road

Day 3,148, 22:58 Published in USA USA by Derphoof

Dearest Americans,

While I had a few more articles essentially in-development, it appears as though I do not need them any longer. Come last night, it became clear to me how the leadership of the various major parties and their members were voting in their primaries. While I campaigned as hard as I could, for being on vacation, I fell short in every contest. Even my own party, the USWP, decided to back my opponent over their own member.

I did not seek nominations from any of the weird small parties out there, so I will not be appearing on the ballot come the 5th. As such, I will not be publishing any more campaign articles.

I would like to thank those who have supported me publicly and privately, offering as much support and help as you could. Just as well, I would like to thank those of you who had signed on to be in my cabinet and serve our great nation. I am grateful for your willingness to be a part of the team.

I was truly excited for the month ahead, and I believed I had a very good chance coming into this. I am sorry to those who I may have let down, who had been encouraging me to run up to this point. In the end, I believe that I let you down, and I can’t be sure that I’ll pursue another opening like this again. Losing in this manner has made quite an impact. Yet, I am forever grateful for your willingness to work with me and encourage me as we aspired for greatness. They did it not just for my benefit, but for the eCountry that we all love and hope to improve.

I also congratulate Yui on the first month of his in the CP chair, and on his victory in this campaign. I hope that his stewardship of our nation brings us success in the coming month, and sets us on a good path for the months following.

With the changes in economics, and the new placement of resources, our nation faces new challenges ahead of us. In these times, we must continue to do the work of the people, and make effective choices. We must reach across the aisle and make sure every citizen feels involved, and that every opinion is respected. On top of that, we need to make sure that we continue to practice good politics; politics that don’t poison the well. We must continue to uphold honesty, transparency, and integrity in good governance.

I decided to run for president because I care about this nation that we share. While the campaign may be over, we will surely continue to prosper as long as we all keep putting our best foot forward, seek common ground over confrontation, and put country above party and self.

America is worth fighting for, and in that regard, I’ll never stop. We should always expect greatness.

I will settle for nothing less.
