[Dan/naD] The mandate for success

Day 2,265, 12:15 Published in Switzerland Switzerland by Dan/naD Wilshire

The Introduction

It is that time of the month once again. Round four has officially started. It was a tight internal election, however I came out on top. I would like to thank the SFP for their support once again this month. Let the campaign begin!

Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Currently we are in the waiting phase of alliance development. Due to the fact we are a small nation we have not been invited to the initial alliance talks. While the “superpowers” talk it out between each other, we need to be preparing for the possible outcomes of these discussions. This is why there needs to be great emphasis on our embassies this month.

Embassies

Last month the embassy program restarted. We set up a few embassies here and there, but with no real tactical placements. This month we will need to change that strategy. It will be in our best interest to send ambassadors to places like the USA, Spain, Poland, UK etc., big nations who will be at the forefront of the alliance creation process. We need to ensure we have good relations with these countries to ensure a position within any alliance that they form.

Ministry of Defence

Over the next few months the role of MoD will become increasingly more important. This means that we need to start rebuilding today, to ensure that we are an effective state when the next alliances form. One way to do this is to provide training ground upgrade loans to all Swiss Citizens to build up the players that we have. We need to provide an effective education program on the military so our young players don’t rush their way to Division 3 and 4, but stay in Division 1 and 2 for as long as possible to maximise their BH potential.

MoD orders will need to become more regular. This will become easier as we see alliances form so we have a better idea as to who to fight for. It may need a new system of order images being designed. Strike nights are something I love and it’s something I would love to see in Switzerland. Once, twice or more often a week, setting a time when everyone can come together to get supplies and fight in the same battle. It will help strengthen our unity, but also make our damage more effective. We will also need some form of national Army.

National Army

The national army does not have to be the traditional MU style unit where only the players in a specific unit can receive supplies. In a small country like ours this will not work. However due to the fact that we are a small country, there are some schemes that will work here more effectively than in other countries.

First off I do believe there should be a unit where all who are interested in being part of a National Army can join. It will be commanded by the CP/MoD. This will not only ensure that we have at least one MU which religiously follows MoD orders with their DO’s. It’s also somewhere we can set CO’s from on important battles, or as a way of giving something back to Swiss citizens who fight in the MoD supported battles.

The next tier to this would be a national strike force. This is where players from any MU who prove that they have fought for MoD supported battle can get a little something back. This scheme in part is already in place, so it can be easily expanded upon.

Tying in with Strike nights, a mobile attack force could be created to serve the needs of Switzerland and her allies. The most active fighters from across Switzerland could join together and fight for our allies on demand. CO’s, supply drops and cc could be used to lure or strongest fighters to focus their damage on the most important battles. This would further strengthen our damage potential, focussing it in a more effective way.

All of this however will need to be support by a supply system. I am not a fan of overspending, so an infrastructure project may need to be created so that we can effectively supply our troops for minimal cost.

Ministry of Finance

While under occupation the current consensus (at least by the last congress/government) was to set all taxes to 0% or 1% depending on how low they can go. This is to discourage the Slovenians from holding our regions as our tax income will be near non-existent. This however leaves us with no form of income to support the countries social welfare schemes and MPP payments.

This as a long term plan is not exactly viable. We only have a limited treasury balance and without congress we cannot access the bulk of the money. This means that the government’s social programs may have to be privately funded through private donations if we want to have the money to successfully provide the country with regions for congress.

Ministry of Home Affairs

The Minister of Home Affairs will be in charge of increasing forum participation, ensuring every minister spends time on the irc and coordinating the interworking of the cabinet. Further to this along with the vMoHA’s, the ministry will work on idea to increase the population and making the game for fun as a whole for everything. It’s work may not be at the forefront of what’s going on, however it will be vitally important for the country.

Ministry of Education

The endeavours of the Minister of Education will be to reproduce articles explaining how the game works. Around the elections articles explaining every rule will be published along with other more basic articles on how to work, fight or eat.

Ministry of Information

The national media machine, every government article summarised, discussed and provided to you all in one newspaper. No longer will you have to search for government news, you will be able to find everything that you need in one place.

The Ministry of Information will also be responsible of providing the country information on all international news such as wars, alliance rumours and the like. There will not be just one MoInfo, this is a job for at minimum two players (Home and International?). Aided by the other ministers as sources of information the MoInfo will bring everything you could ever want in a newspaper and more!

Ministry of Immigration

Possibly of little importance as things stand right now as without congress we cannot accept any new migrants into our country. This month however the MoI will have the wonderful task of rewriting the immigration law, redesigning the application form and analysing other countries immigration policies in the process to ensure that we have a efficient and effective immigration system.

Final Note

When you go to vote, vote Dan/naD Wilshire! The only candidate this month with a “/” in his nick!
