[ D E M O S ] The Introduction

Historical backgroun😛

This political party was created solely by Santiago Junior (also known as “G.W.Junior” in the past) and in the first period of its existence was originally known as: “PANDA” political party.

It has been exactly one year ago since we've regained the control over this party and taken it back in our hands; as it was PTO-ed just one month earlier by self imposed so called “King of eBelgium”.

Firstly, we renamed into “DEFIANCE”, which was more of Resistance Movement than a political party. It was meant to show our disagreement and unhappiness with the Government policies of that time and about the country’s wipe that was lasting for some time already.

DEFIANCE” served us well and its purpose for few months and then when Jofroi (also know as “the Kabouter”) has joined us and afterwards he became the party president, he himself wanted to introduce some changes.

One of the changes he was keen to make; was to change the name of the party so we've discussed several proposals which we had on the table to choose from. We finally chose for Pink Panther as a new name for our party. As a curiosity a Pink Panther is also one of my favorite cartoons since my youth and Jofroi (also know as “the Kabouter”) accidentally also adores everything which is pink coloured, so we found our common agreement very easily.

Later on in the summer of the last year, several new faces have joined us. Namely, FilipuBajsic and specijalac88. They became our party presidents for several months in a row.

In a certain moment of time; someone from our members has initiated a new proposal for a change of our party name. We again launched internal referendum and voted upon. It was very close race between two names, but we finally ended up with Belgian Democratic Party.

Somewhere during that autumn period, our old acquaintance and old member Christijan Kowalsky (also known as Christijan I. of Finland and ChristijanXD in the past) has returned to eBelgium for the third time.
And he showed desire and the willingness to be party president. So he served as well as party president for two terms in a row.

The Big Change:

As the one of oldest and the longest serving members; I found it very unsatisfying to see all those people passing by and not creating a single political program or a political manifesto of any kind. This is quite understandable, but also unfulfilling according to my own merits.

They all served well our party cause with more or less enthusiasm, I can’t deny that.

Therefore, fed up with the current situation I have decided to take the lead over the steering wheel and try to make something out of this party. Whether it will be remembered and will it stay in the history; I can’t judge myself; the time will tell. Partly, this big change has started with the implementation of a new name, a new logo and a new slogan for our party.

The principal idea for all this that popped up in my head; came by watching and listening news and reading articles from the media around the world about the current political situation and the new political forces which emerged in Greece and in Spain.

Where significant number of the citizens in these two countries hit by the recent economic crisis started to show great support and in the recent elections voted in favor of Syriza (in Greece) and Podemos (in Spain).

That’s where I got my idea to start something similar here in eBelgium.

We’ll be party of the people, by the people, for the people.

(My own ambiguous interpretation of A. Lincoln’s quote).

de•mos (meaning):
(dē′mŏs′)

n.

1. The common people; the populace.

2. A Greek word denoting common people who held citizenship and therefore had rights.

In my following article, I will try to analyze more in detail and more profoundly about our political ideology and our political standpoints; we are suppose to represent as a political party accordingly to the results of the analysis made by the honourable citizen Boklevski in his research.
