[CP] - War with Canada and much more.

CP Updates. #2
Well its been an eventful 5 days so far. So let me run down what’s been happening and explain in detail our position regarding our military strike as even my MoD have been panicking.
Military Breakdown
OK I have received a number of mails saying “We must get rid of Poland from our lands ASAP” mainly from younger players admittedly but I want to explain why Poland are here. Firstly Poland is our ally and a member of the Sirius Alliance like ourselves. When Argentina wiped us (thank Apple) we had no realistic chance of retaining our lands, the Argies smash 20 billion damage and we do 3bn. Poland therefore invaded Argentina and wiped them from UK lands.
Now I am in daily contact with the Polish CP and we are returning UK lands in a controlled manner. They are several reasons for this. Number one, Serbia are in town and have been running riot in central Europe. However their 2x battle damage bonus ends tomorrow and Poland have NE’d them for that extra 10%. So a direct war between the two will now happen.
Also France could border us if we retake the south regions, being as unpredictable and bored as they are anything could happen as we’ve seen with the RW USA regions.
Woops!! Portugal’s CP gets it wrong but corrects error 3mins later. Giving us 4mins to RW NFL if needed.
So we wanted revenge on Canada (courtesy of our congress) and last night we had British soldiers on Canadian soil. Check the map to see the big purple section which used to be Canadian. Unfortunately, shortly after this victory Portugal Declared War on us.. Yes declaring War is the WRONG thing to do and their new CP showed us his inexperience.. Silly boy. 3 minutes later he corrected his error. But in doing so he bought us time (see later) Now why is all this important?
Portugal now border us via NFL.
Well Portugal offer us a real test, personally I would opt for this war, it would be entertaining. However congress are really tight with money (boo) and so Canadian remains the cheaper option and easier option to ensure we have congress. BigAnt puts sensible head on for once.
So we have 4 minutes tonight at 16:00 erep game time to start a RW in Newfoundland and Labrador.
We will support this RW (So potentially easy medal for you).
Starting this RW and handing NFL back means we can continue to wipe canada behind us. When the timing is right we can retake NFL based on some other factors of course (wink wink).
Failing to start this RW in 4mins, Portugal will attack us. I would be forced to suicide our regions in canada and lose the NE as portugal would block the region connection. It would then become a 1 vs 1 with Portugal. So there are our two options… still with me? RW NFL and continue into Canada ensure we have congress and controlled RW of Polish regions or miss RW, deliberately or not.. and have a face off with portugal which will cost us more.
I have all day to consider my options but I will ask people move to NFL please and be ready for a likely RW.
MPPs
I have been very busy with congress recently and one of the key areas the UK needed to improve was nighttime damage. NWG (MoFA) and myself have been working hard behind the scenes to talk to other potential future allies. I'm delighted to announce that Chile have accepted our approach to rekindle our love for one another. We all know a certain EX UK player did a lot of damage between our two nations relationship. But we have the chance to unite and rebuild again in the future.
Not long after this Indo agreed to MPP us also. So congress will be voting on that very soon.
Referendum
As Promised the Referendum vote will be taking place today and into the next few days. An article will be released and every UK citizen meeting certain criteria of course will be able to vote. Now as part of my CP campaign I made the point that the PEOPLE, that being you! never had the say on our internationally position. So the question will be..
Do you as a British citizen want to continue our membership as part of the Sirius Alliance. YES/NO.
The purpose of this vote is to allow the people of eUK to make the decision and not a few individuals who used to run the country control these decisions. What ever the result it will be respected and upheld. You will be voting via the comments section of the article which is clear and visible for all to see. The results will be counted and we will move on from there.
Recent Ministry work
MoF has been busy sorting the accounts and talking to congress regarding a tax proposal which is to increase work tax from 1% to 2% to raise an additional 90k a month to support things such as MPP extensions with the wars coming up. This is a tiny raise but a necessary one to support our funding. With our ex president appleby who had a terrible month, we he has stolen £300,000 from the accounts (already announced). This has made things alot tougher for my term. We are hoping to Donate some cash to our Country orgs. For every ORG with 50k floating on the MM, it can provide a potential £1.25k return every 10 days. So having 9 orgs running could make us £33,750 having more cash available to float and using 17 orgs could return us £63,750. To make money we have to use it im afraid it does not good being sat in game gathering dust.

Me thinks you miss the point of the Referendum. It is all about how we make big decisions and not about the sides we decide on. Its about trusting democracy. Its about letting British citizens freely deciding their fortunes for themselves.

Kudos to you and NWG on getting the Chile MPP. I thought Indonesia had been willing to MPP with us for a while though, seem to remember we were MPPed with them the last time I was in congress (February I think?).
I'd like to vote for not taking on Portugal when we're short half a country, Poland are about to go toe-to-toe with Serbia, and France and Canada would be there to pile on even if we were up to taking them 1v1.

Given that the referendum is due today it should be really important to know in advance what the 'criteria' are?
I'm sure you can see why as setting the criteria post-referendum or in private leads to the possibility of it being used to alter the count by rejecting or accepting votes to help a desired outcome......

i am actually very pleased with those military tactics but for the referendum we must have them transparent.
😉 Quite ironic how BigAnt laughs with the mistake that the CP of Portugal made. The Portugese CP made a minor mistake that can be solved without any consequences. While BigAnt himself, out of incompetence, lacks the understanding of the game mechanics. That was shown when BigAnts actions immediately caused the deletion of a state owned MU

I've been in this game for 5 years. Nothing good comes from Poland. They are worse than my eCountry - Serbia. They are like Turks, they only care for their resources. eSerbia is wrecking havoc in Europe because we had a rough time when Chile had 2x bonus and all countries fought against eSerbia via proxy eChile. eSerbia is taking revenge (because it can, and rightfully so) and Poland will h ave a very very hard time, eSerbia does more damage then ePoland when the motivation is right. 2x bonus is not needed.
you are betting on the wrong horse. ePoland will retreat to it's original borders and war will stop, eSerbia will go about it's business of fighting eCroatia and defending resources. It's a never ending cycle. But I digress - ePoland is a bad ally most of the time. When UK was in same alliance with eSerbia you were treated "ok". I remember orders and unit strikes against UK's enemies, saving congress many times etc.
Ask around and find out why UK has congress this month. Let's just say someone pulled strings (not me) to have one UK region spared for the elections. If not for that, UK would not have congress. Poland didn't give a shit, yet it could have easily helped - if it cared.

What are you talking about? Poland NE'd Argentina and helped drive them out of eUK, just like they did when Argentina attacked us by A/S last spring. Serbia, also our allies in TWO at that time, did nothing to help us.
There may be a history of Serbia helping us from before I joined the game, but since Jan '13 we've been bailed out by Spain and Poland several times, Chile and Germany have also been good allies in times of need, while I've not seen Serbia do a damn thing for us, other than their citizens attempting to PTO us once we chose to go with SPoland on the breakup of TWO.
thats pretty recent "history" to me. Argentina is shitty country populated by immigrants seeking power. I honestly have no clue (someone does) who is running that country but Poland is using UK as first line of defence atm. Back in the day, Serbia, Poland and Hungary held borders across the sea so UK was complete most of the time. Now Poland only defends what it must.

they never cared for anything except for resources or, back then, territories with resources. They will defend UK just to a point where they are not under a threat. You will see now, when war starts SRB vs PLN. Serbia is not great, but ask Slovenia or Hungary how loyal Serbia is to loyal allies. If any of them lost congress it was because Serbia was really overwhelmed but most of the times it was good and prosperous. Hell, even Romania joined on our side, against Poland!

eUK has had congress every month since I joined the game, and more than one time it was Poland stepping in to kick out invaders that made that possible. That's enough of a reason for me to consider them loyal allies.
