[CP] The Last Speech from Your President

Day 2,115, 13:08 Published in Norway Norway by Per Jostein

Hello!

This is my last article as Country President of Norway. I have to say it was an honour to serve as president. I thank my party leaders and members, who have supported my candidacy and also members from other parties and friends. I knew it was a huge challenge to be in such position, so that I try to gather the best cabinet I could to help me administrate the country. Fortunately, a great cabinet was formed, making it easier for me to work.

This was a particularly vivacious term, with contant brainstorms and participation from the society in general. I hope this continue to be a tendency in Norway. What makes me even happier is that most of the players who have contributed for it are new comers in our country or at least new faces in our Politics. When I was Minister of Immigration I saw that many players who were applying for Norwegian citizenship could give a great collaboration to our system. And this was stated this term. I tried to make these ideas thrive, giving support to most of them.

The beginning was hard and confusing for me. My lack of experience as president allied with the unexpected National Shield competition and the necessity of organizing the ministries divided my attention. Our diplomatic fail in regarding Lithuania and Asgard was the only negative point in all this period, and it was early overcomed, as since then we have a great relationship in Asgard HQ, as you have been seeing in cooperations related to the battle plans, for example.

The bold idea from vMoFA, babk, was implemented by me, with the foundation of the National Committe, which has already been an important regulation organ, as we saw in the last Congress Elections. By the way, we successfully have a 20-seat Congress, and Sweden and Finland also got Congress, in a moment that Asgard already demonstrated a good reaction against Lithuania.

The Ministry of Social Affairs started its works and the Ministry of Solidarity will officially be initiated soon, as new projects we have in Norway related to gathering and maintaining new members. Congratulations to Comedians, Sky 33, Che Kukaken and bATRA.

The Ministries of Finance and Immigration worked well as always, giving a solid structure to our country, so as did the Ministry of Defense, although this one could go a little bit better, in my opinion. More interaction between ministries of Finance and Defense are essential for next terms. Congratulations to Fredrikz, Kilorien, Kristoph Woldskji, Kaname Darkwind, Morten Asphaug and Akashaton.

Specially, I'd like to thank the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emanuil 13 and his Vice-Minister, babk. If I could give a reward for the best ministry we had in Norway in this term it would go for sure to the MoFA. Emanuil has proven to be a key persona in our country, and many agreements and strategies we had were due to his efforts, with a highlight to this last one with Bulgaria. babk was the right person to be Vice-Minister. It is hard even to set him in just one place in the cabinet, as he can contribute in many areas, the same case as fredrikz and Indigodavo. I'm glad to see that the MoFA team will stay the same for next term.

Talking about the Vice-President, my right arm, Indigodavo. A great friend, always helped me when I needed, he was even more active in irc than me, and was ready to substitute me anytime. My work would be much harder if I didn't have your support, Indigo. Thank you! For sure we have here a potential excellent president in a near future.

I need also to mention another names. Joshua Morriseau and Jochen Lutz: these citizens all long the month actively participated of our society, giving a huge contribution to it. If I could be back in time, I would have set you in more significant positions in the cabinet. Vasil I. Kunchev, who also tried to be important in some way, I cannot forget your constant support.

Regarding the structure of the country, there are some changes, with Ministry of Solidarity getting an org and the National Committee getting one too. I hope these orgs be very useful in their new hands. Other change is the possibility of some ODIN members coming to Norway. This organization, which is not anymore a political one, will certainly bring even more liveliness to Norway, with their appreciation for Nordic culture, and the high skill of their members, which count on some Brazilian e😜residents and ex-ministers. I myself was a member of it in a short period I had a Brazilian citizenship in erepublik. I'm glad I was able to help them with some visibility.

To conclude my long text, I say that I feel I did well my role. Sure it could be even better, but I know it could be much worse... If in my candidacy I wrote that "if I could keep the good work that has been demostrated by the last presidents, it would be a great achievement", I think I can say I accomplished this achievement.

For the future, I hope to continue to see much internal participation and debates in our society as general, not only in the Congress, as I have already see this term. I expect it to be even at a higher level. I also hope that the next presidents give oportunity to new ideas and to players willing to aggregate.

For me, it is the ending of a challenge. I'll be two clicking in erepublik at least until the middle of October, as I'm going to travel in real life. I also need to give priority to real life stuffs, in a way that I don't know when I'll be active in erepublik again. Thanks to all you Norwegians for supporting me as president and for read all this until the end - after all it is a very large writing!
