Today we are going to talk about my agenda for the foreign affairs department.

Foreign Affairs is the department that focuses on the political module. If something involves dealing with other nations, you can bet FA has a hand involved. It includes our diplomats, immigration, and ambassadors.

I want to continue the efforts we have begun this term. Reaching out to build relationships with new friends, and strengthening ties with old ones. We are adding to the FA department a chief ambassador liaison to organize and keep up to date with the various ambassadors to and from eIreland. I'm also hoping the ambassadors will be motivated to help out with the media effort mentioned below.

There are MASSIVE changes in the game these days. The new FF/determination mechanics have made the occupation much more difficult to maintain, and thus smaller nations now have more of a voice than ever. Large nations can no longer simply ignore and roll over them. TWO is splintering, and if it should break apart, the fallout will be chaotic. We will need to keep our composure, if we are going to navigate those troubled waters.



I want to see more FA participation in the same media push I am asking from the community department. We have many eIrish players with citizenship elsewhere. I am hoping they are willing to write a few articles about the RL beauty and culture of Ireland, as well as updates about the in-game history, and current events of e-Ireland. I think the articles about Ireland printed in other countries could raise our national profile. Likewise, we have many players from other nations with eIrish citizenship. I'd like to see similar articles about foreign countries published here in eIreland. Any polyglots willing to scan foreign media and publish synopsis of the media in other nations would be appreciated. Maybe you will find a really neat, or particularly humorous article you can translate to english and publish here.

I would like our populace to be one of the most globally aware nations. I am hoping the ambassadors, and friends of eIreland can publish articles that keep our citizens updated with the important events happening on the global stage, and in the local communities of nations that are important to us. Do we have a friend under threat of PTO, or is there an enemy who is negotiating a NAP with our neighbor, etc.

In short, I would like entertaining fluff pieces about eIreland to be published abroad, and fun articles about other nations to be printed here. I also would like informative articles so our citizens are aware of current events around the world.
