[CP] Statement from the UK CP
10 Downing Street
Today is a historic day. The nation has chosen its path. It is not the path that I - as CP - supported, but it is now our path into the future.
There is no doubt that - without careful leadership - the days, weeks and months to come could be filled with fear and uncertainty. I will continue to be here as your noble CP in order to steady the ship. So it's handy I'm in the Royal Navy - we know a thing or two about ships.
However, I am clearly not the person to lead our great nation in its new direction. Therefore, I am today announcing that I will resign as CP in three months time - after two further successful CP elections. I will stand aside and gracefully allow someone new to steer the good ship Blighty into its isolationist future.
Thank you.
It's been emotional.
Right, I'm off to panic buy Evian, Kinder Eggs and Seats before emigrating to Gibraltar.

Better hurry. 😮
French economy is now larger than Britains. Not even a day into this yet (£120bn wiped off the FTSE 100)
Farage said money won't go to NHS (A big leave point)
And talk about unelected officials in Brussels? Well try an unelected PM. That's on its way now. Can't even celebrate Dave leaving as there's only worse to come. Tories will back a pro Brexit MP. So that means either Boris or fucking Gove running the country. This wasn't an 'anti-establishment' vote because you've just handed the country to too of the establishments most dangerous clatterfarts
Now lost £350bn that's 40 years of EU contributions. Yep. 40 years.
Maybe now people will realise it's important to vote in General Elections
Hahaha Remain lose, remain people are awful nasty bunch
COME ON ENGLAND!!!!
I'm kinda curious as to what exactly is so great about leaving the EU.
What is not great ,the EU is a satanic cess pit just a waste of money only serving the very very rich the EU is falling down we have a right to govern ourselfs with not 1 law pass from the EU, we have a right to protect our own country and our citizens, They needed us more than we need them the EU was never meant to be like this and we was sold a lie by Ted Heath
Disgusting you're laughing at an economic crash and cozying up to people like Boris, Gove and Farage
I'm laughing at you and other like you who voted remain Boris is far more better than Dave and that evil Ruth davidson or nicole sturgon or ed miliband what a bunch of nasty losers and Osborne the country will be ok next week after the bankers make their money it all the game
The EU doesn't really govern over member states, but it can set directives and regulations for them. For example, in the UK the Equal Treatment Directive is in place in the UK, which essentially helps men and women get equal treatment at work in the UK.
And yes, the EU needs us. But we also need the EU- by 2011 EU investment into the UK was worth over $1.2 trillion. Now that we're not going to be in the EU, there will be restrictions meaning that it's much harder for EU member states to invest money into us.
lol dude i said 'in the Uk' twice
You do look quite emotional up there.
Great News this is great day
'm so happy !!!!!!!!
YES bye Dave
Deluded idiot
That is you pal go cry with Mr S Khan
Rather be with him than Farage
Says it all about you. you should move to inner London and get with him
Im now going out to celebrate I will have a drink for you and be thinking of you all night long !!! FREEDOM!!!!
Bit creepy that. Enjoy celebrating a ruined country
Also freedom from what? We still have to deal with the EU. They're one of our biggest trading partners. Other partners now see our economy as unstable so we could see trading be limited with them (China/US). On top of that we appear to have handed government to the fascist part of the establishment and are set to have an unelected PM by October.
Eat your word Sambo
The blue chip index of the leading British Companies finished the week 2per higher both the FTSE and pound rallied back , people like you Sambo etc are scare mongers, doom mongers... what ruined country ??you will be proved wrong and I will be here to let you know about !
And you elect parties at the elections it doesn't say vote Dave Cameron does it !
you will be proved wrong mark my words !
Next leader of the Tories (and therefore PM) will be decided in an election of just Tory members. That's undemocratic for the whole country.
We've just had our economic outlook downgraded to 'negative' by Moody's. We've been told that the the French want the Le Touquet Treaty thrown out. The potential loss of Scotland and maybe even NI will weaken the country. It's not scare mongering it's facts. A break up of the union WILL make us weaker. Our economic outlook IS downgraded. Our EU allies DO want nothing to do with us.
Ι support Princess Hary
It's great the UK has stood up to the mighty faceless wonders of EU politics and said "FU".
Pity about the shares etc but now after some re-adjustment we can get back on track and find some jobs
for all those uni people until they get something they qualified in.
As for Boris for PM that's probably worst case scenario, hope we find someone a bit more positive than D.C.
I reckon Prince Harry should go for it.
What a load of drivel in the comments, ffs get over it and move on. Whatever your views, not going to change the outcome.
1. There will be no voting in of an unelected PM, because.... You never vote for a PM, you vote for the party. Sure the party chooses their face before you vote, but that's not the same thing as saying you elect a man - and if you vote a party in because one man has nice hair and rides a bike to work, well you're a F.Twhat.
2.Loss and gain on financial markets represent the current level of investment and that in turn represents the level of belief in that market as being a place for the growth of money. We're talking about money that is made from money, and a whole lot more nasty combinations of money making money making money, there is no piggy bank with a handful of coins, it's a representation of success. At the moment people don't know the effect of Brexit, this creates fear - like being told by your government through the media 24/7 that everything bad will happen if you vote the wrong choice. Fear makes people move their investments, when fear is gone, money comes back - because... We haven't actually changed anything tangible about how money is made in within our markets, everyone goes to work, makes stuff, provides service labor, etc. The markets will recover and we'll be in much the same position as before.
Nice article VM, lulz needed atm.
Short term market shifts are irrelevant. In a couple of days the markets will move on to something more interesting - trading in squirrel nipples or something - and the UK will stabilise.
The points sambo made - downgraded credit rating, break up of the union, long-term trade damage etc - are far more significant. Therein lies the real damage of referendum.
Things will be worse. And not because of yesterday's market movements.
I think one MP has summed up in a few short sentences exactly why we voted to leave. David Lammy (Labour MP) has claimed parliament can simply overrule the result because they do not have to follow the will of the people:-
"We do not have to do this"
"The referendum was an advisory, non-binding referendum."
"Parliament now needs to decide whether we should go forward with Brexit, and there should be a vote in Parliament next week."

Unless his account has been hacked I expect he will be instructed to remove it. But sadly this is exactly the kind of arrogance we've been getting from our political elites and their lackeys in the media, who I note are highlighting anything and everything that now tries to undermine the will of the people.
Scotland is NOT entitled to another vote simply because Nicola Sturgeon didn't get what she wanted.
London cannot have a vote to secede from the rest of the country simply because some people do not like the result. If there had been a narrow remain vote would we be hearing about the West Midlands or South West England getting another vote because we voted to leave and we were being kept in Europe against our wishes? The answer is no.
I hear people are signing a petition to try and have another referendum on the grounds that the turnout was not above a threshold they wish to now set and I ask - would any of these people be saying the same if the turnout in England had been lower resulting in a very narrow remain vote? The answer of course is no.
I've heard people trying to argue that old people shouldn't be allowed to vote or that children should be allowed to vote and that people under 35 should get 2 votes. Really? Did the suffragettes and civil rights movement not fight for EVERYONE to be allowed to vote not just those who the elites want to be allowed to vote so they get the 'right' result?
The way our political and metropolitan elites are trying to subvert democracy for their own ends is exactly what is wrong with the EU - remember our politicians are only self serving out of touch elitists because they are on the EU gravy train.
only 340,000 British people have signed that and it was made in April and if you read it , it asking for that law to be placed it was too late, and all them students protesting haven't worked a day in their life still at home with mummy and daddy,, and Sturgeon is thick EU have said No to Scotland remain it doesn't work like that the Union wont break up 100% we will move on stronger but we still have big issue to address in London ! oh and if MEPs don't act on the will of the people they will lose there jobs !
Of course and Scotland cannot hold another referendum without the permission of Westminster.
Hilary Benn claims that Labour will not seek to overturn the Referendum results, but the thing is the fact that so many politicians and media lackeys are even discussing new referenda and having elections to campaign to keep us in proves that people must be considering trying to reverse the result.
Remember millions of people allegedly believe our politicians are out of touch elites. Well why would millions of people have formed an opinion that's wrong? What better way to prove it's true than try and ignore the referendum result.
Politicians are a greedy lot and it wont benefit them as they will be out of work forever and be voted out in their areas no leader is going to risk it now either and UKIP would get much more support , the people have spoken don;t worry our freedom is coming !
