Open letter to Congress
Dear Members of Congress,
Before I start with this letter I want to state that I didn’t consult my Government on this matter. It is my own opinion I am expressing here.
I am addressing all current 21 Congress Members and all future congress members today because I am not satisfied with the number of Congress Members that actually turn up to place their vote on proposals put up in the Belgian forum.
I realise that the law states that a voting is binding when at least ⅓ of Congress voted but I do believe that is too little. How can ⅓ of Congress represent the majority of the eBelgian citizens?
I think it is a disgrace that not even 50% +1 voted on the latest important topic.
For example the funding of the para’s rejected on a count of 9 votes out of 21, 10 votes out of 21 for the removal of FOC masks.
The CoC makes it even makes it more easy for you guys. You don’t even have to check out the forum multiple times a day because CoC send you an ingame PM with ongoing debates and votes.
I would love to see that all Members of Congress will take up their duty more seriously in the future and attend to placing votes more often.

voted for greater truth. It is quite annoying to see a rather small group making the only contributions and debate to the congress forums, from whom several aren't even congressmen!
i am sure it is the same in many countries. people run for congress to get a medal and 5 gold, not to actually participate.
In eNL, they are making a table, with the numbers of votes from each congressmembers, the numbers of participation in debates from each congressmembers, and the rate activity by party. It require some time, but it's a good tool to help our citizens choosing active congressmembers and active parties to support.

It is a pitty that things are like that, but i believe that the system used in eNL and spoken of by ThomasRed earlyer on could provide an extra motivation.

Of course, last Congress Elections was also an anti-PTO one, so maybe some people got elected just to help, not to be CM?
I also think a CM activity report should be made... But who has that kind of time?
@theophyledepatyarkes (what's a long name 😁). Not a lot in fact because a lot of players were in wallonia (no votes there) and persons who were in other regions were clear ( don't vote for me).
It's sad to see that, because if you want to be in congress you must to be active on debate (it's a miminum).
@theo: actually the most congress members were part of the 'usual suspects' that are always a candidate and often get elected. This is not a problem of this term, but a problem that has been here already for some time...

I also have tried a report card, which, like Elynea's, was criticized. Sammy also did it in the distant past. The bottom line is the parties need to follow up and make sure their Congress members are participating, and if they are not, the voters need to be informed of that. PP's need to take responsibility for making sure that we have quality Congress candidates, not just quantity.

A good initiative would be , infact to evaluate the congress members according to their activity in debates.
But we need an accord between the contry president and all party leaders to punish the infregments.
