Hello eIreland,

It's hard to believe that the month is at its end. I thought I'd provide a summary report for the month, and I'd like to wish everyone a happy halloween tomorrow, in whatever way it's celebrated in your home country (if at all).

Staff Articles
In the midst of our impromptu training war with the eUK, the pace of articles this month has declined - but several ministries still managed to throw a line out to the public.

Training War
Our Training War with the eUK has reached its end. This training war started with the intent of real war against us - when the eUK's Parliament NE'd us without the support or consent of their government.

To avoid a conflict which would seriously disadvantage both sides, Bohemond4 quickly approached the eIrish government and came to an agreement to make the best of a bad situation, and operate this NE situation as a training war.

Once this arrangement was underway, the eIrish government set into motion defensive measures, realizing that since this NE had been declared with the intent of real war, even if it was to be a TW, eIreland would need to take precautions against offensive pushes.

An aid to our ability to win RWs during this conflict, was the allied RWs in France and in Norway which took place throughout the war. These RWs were started by the eIreland in regions held by the eUK in these foreign allied nations. Throughout these complimentary battles, eIrish MU's could be seen placing COs against the eUK. These efforts were privately funded in a vast majority by our Vice Taoiseach (Sweet Drinker), and it is well acknowledged that these contributions allowed us to out-fund the eUK, and were a major reason for our winning all RWs.

This RW tactic was they key to our success as a nation. While in MPP battles the eUK has a serious advantage due to their TWO stack, RWs negate MPPs and rely entirely on moving regions in order to aid the battle effort. Our CO's attracted mercenaries and friends to our cause, while the TW label detracted from TWO aid. We also benefitted from our conservative military strategy for the past several months - which was what allowed us to bring huge amounts of shield into this battle - 20 billion being the worlds best defence shield in little eIreland's hands, in addition to a nice region size by the end of our RWs which allowed us a decent spread of these resources. Meanwhile COs were facilitated by a dedicated team who work in shifts through night and day to keep our COs updated and outmatching the eUK.

You can read an indepth account of events from Seanan, our MoD, here.

After returning all of our regions we were then in a difficult situation. The auto-attacks from the eUK were damaging our shield resources - a valuable asset that we should look to preserve for future military threats.

By the nature of this being a TW, the eIrish government and eUK's government had both indicated that they would be content to also use this NE opportunity to trade some regions. It was considered that the eUK would be allowed Louth for its fruit bonus, while eIreland would retake the region bonuses of Cork, Shannon, and Mayo (bringing us from 3 regions to 5).

To me this arrangement was a no brainer as it allowed us to improve on our situation considerably. The other great advantage which was seen, was that Louth provides both a carrot and a stick for the eUK. The carrot is the fruit bonus which they desire. The stick is the strategic access which Louth gives us to the eUK's shield resources in the event that they should choose to attack us ever again. It is now very well realized that eIreland can defend itself through RWs and cause massive confusion and damage to an invader (hence our effectively stripping them of their foreign regions and decisively RWing our regions simply because of defensive concerns). Louth gives them everything to lose by attacking us, and eIreland's sound defensive strategy provides sound assurance.

Overall, I'm very proud to be eIrish today. We're the only non-TWO nation which can claim such decisive sovereignty and self determination while being neutral to boot. We concede only for strategic reasons, and we play our cards brilliantly - that in addition to some lucky breaks geographically and relationally, culminate into a truly unique and intriguing story for our little island. I often wish that more of us would look around at the map, and realize how fortunate our situation is. And how much fun it can be to play as a wild card - a neutral nation standing even in spite of hostile dominating imperial forces, by virtue of its own wit and determination.

Immigration

The following new citizens were approved by our Office of Immigration and granted citizenship by our TDs:

Dobri duh Niksica, Robert BiH, Severrus Snape, Sharp83, Mercurius100, The Killer Wind, hjjgffgj,Wowgotit Arthopius, N0rdiK.

* No citizenships have been given out this month without being investigated and approved by the eIrish Office of Immigration. Approval by the office required a nomination from 2/3 officials - each official representing a different top 5 political party to avoid political selection bias.

We welcome these new citizens to our nation whole heartedly, and hope that eIreland will treat them well, as we know that they will treat us too!

Cheers,
Ian E Coleman
Taoiseach of eIreland
