[CP Entry] Choosing Your Political Family. - Parties in eRepublik
Parties are the engines that drive our political system, they offer the choice between not only candidates and platforms, but ideology and vision as well. It would be too easy to turn this article into partisan propaganda, telling you to vote Bruck, or Dominik; but like so many eCanadians, I’m not much of a partisan guy. So for those political orphans out there, the men and women who have not chosen a political party, how does one choose where their allegiances should lie? Well, I believe political parties are institutions forged of humanity, and driven by ideas, and it is based upon these factors that a person should choose their political stripe.
A political party is like a family, though many may feel like a fraternity depending on which one you choose. (I hear Paradox is holding a kegger on the weekend.) The party of your choice must be made of your staunchest friends and allies, those who will support you in your time of need, and listen to your concerns. To enter into a party who’s members will not even value your presence would be to betray yourself; for in the immortal words of Don Ferguson portraying Joe Clark: “I will not be the member of any party that will not have me as a member!” If you look through your friends list, your pm box, and your alert messages, and you can see that those who maintain the most contact with you are bound by the beliefs of a common party, that party may just be the one for you.
A political party without ideas is a political party no more. It has ceased to be. It is an ex-party. A party with no ideas should not even be an option. This is why manifestos are so important, they are one of the ultimate recruiting tools of a political party, and its leader. The party platform allows citizens to see the vision of a party and the strengths of its leader; for if the words that flow forth from a page can fill you with excitement, pride, and above all else: hope; then truly you have found a party worthy of your membership.
If in this process, you find that no party upholds your ideals, and no party shall accept you into its fold; then perhaps it is up to you to forge a new party, to cadre to the needs of those like you! For if you find yourself in these circumstances, remember these words:
You may be solitary, but you are never alone.

A rather compelling look at political parties with some interesting suggestions to consider when choosing which party is a good fit. The discussion is both vigorous and in depth and should be considered a go-to guide for citizens new to the political party system of eRepublik. There were a few minor grammatical errors and the arrangement of the article is somewhat traditional. However, the picture is appropriate and I really enjoyed the ending.

Well written article. Good use of language and humour (especially the Ferguson quote - great!) makes this fun to read. A few grammatical anomalies - namely some comma splices and misuse of colon (although semi colon usage was ok, if a tad awkward). The article is fairly insightful. Overall, this was a well written article that gets its good mark from plain old good quality writing.
