[CP] eNL leaving EDEN

eNederland verlaat EDEN

Vandaag zijn de stemmen geteld in het referendum over ons lidmaatschap van EDEN. Een meerderheid van 69% (44 mensen) stemde ervoor EDEN te verlaten, 20% wilde lid blijven (13 mensen) en 11% (7 mensen) onthield zich van stemming. De stem van het volk wordt gerespecteerd en dus zal ons land de alliantie verlaten.

eNederland ontving in eerste instantie de EDEN trial member status in december 2011. Na 5 maanden werden we een volwaardig lid, en in de afgelopen 14 maanden hebben we zoete overwinningen en zure verliezen gedeeld, maar het allerbelangrijkst: sterke vriendschappen opgebouwd binnen de alliantie. Ik wil van de gelegenheid gebruik maken om de leden te bedanken voor hun steun in battles die voor ons belangrijk waren en ik wil persoonlijk een woord van dank uitspreken naar de mensen die ik heb leren kennen en respecteren in de relatief korte periode dat ik PR organisor was en deze termijn als CP in HQ (hoofdkwartier).

Helaas waren we er ook getuige van hoe het machtsevenwicht in de wereld veranderde, nadat TERRA zich ophief, USA de andere kant koos, en de allianties CoT en TWO samenspanden om oorlog te verklaren aan EDEN, wat de nodige druk legde op de alliantie als broederschap. De broederschap zal antwoorden moeten vinden en heeft zonder twijfel fikse uitdagingen voor de boeg. Ik wens de blijvende CPs, de nieuwe Supreme Commander en zijn team dan ook alle geluk en wijsheid toe.

Voor wat eNederland betreft, wij gaan vanaf hier onze eigen weg. We rennen niet in de armen van de andere allianties, we laten onze broeders in EDEN niet in de steek. Vanuit een tijdelijk neutrale positie blijven we vechten voor dezelfde principes, verder bouwen aan onze internationale relaties en we zullen zien hoe de huidige allianties hun ware aard zullen tonen in de tijd die voor ons ligt.

Hoewel het natuurlijk niet zonder reden is dat zoveel mensen stemden om EDEN te verlaten, wil ik benadrukken dat we nog steeds veel natuurlijke bondgenoten en vrienden vinden in EDEN. De banden met de organisatie worden losgeknoopt, maar we zullen er zijn voor dezelfde vrienden en bondgenoten, zoals we dat ook waren toen we deel uitmaakten van de broederschap. Daarom, voor een laatste keer:

the eNetherlands are leaving EDEN

Today the votes were counted in the referendum on our membership of EDEN. A majority of 69% (44 people) voted to leave EDEN, 20% wanted to stay (13 people) and 11% (7 people) abstained from voting. The voice of the people will be respected and our country will leave the alliance.

eNetherlands received EDEN trial member status first in December 2011. After five months we became a full member, and in the past 14 months we shared sweet wins and sour losses, but most important, built great friendships within the alliance. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members for the support we received in the battles that were important to us, and I personally want to thank the people I got to meet and respect in the relatively short period of time I was around as PR organisor and this term CP in HQ.

However, we also witnessed the balance of powers change, after Terra dissolved, USA switched sides, and the alliances of CoT and Two hooked up to declare war on EDEN, as a result putting pressure on the alliance as a brotherhood. The brotherhood will need to find answers and most certainly has some tough challenges ahead. I wish the remaining CPs, the new Supreme Commander and his team the best of luck and wisdom.

As for the eNetherlands, we will go our own way from here. We are not running into the arms of other alliances, we are not abandoning our brothers in EDEN. From a temporary neutral position we will remain to fight for the same principles, build further on our international relationships and see how the current alliances will show their true colours in the time ahead of us.

Although it is not without reason that so many people voted for leaving, I want to emphasize that we still find many natural allies and good friends in EDEN. We are loosening the ties with the organization, but we will stand by the same friends and allies we always have, while being part of the brotherhood. Therefore, one last time:
