Finally!

It's OK, I've got a remarkably large and calloused arse, feel free to climb on.

Yes I should have said something before now. A number of things stopped me each time I started. Not the least of them was wanting to pass on good news. My passive term has netted us some progress. I'm very proud of the way my Cabinet Ministers have worked together. There were bumps in the road but benifical collaboration has been the result. It's my desire that we can continue to move toward reaching common goals that move Australia forward.




Money

Who here doesn't like money?

I feel privileged to have had two very competent fellows handle our money this term. T.A.X.S.I.R.A was carried over from last month. I'm glad he accepted my invite to do our books again. Then there was a second good choice with gudzwabofer as deputy. He's involved in many different jobs, I appreciate him taking time to help.

Both had good ideas from the git go. It did not take much encouragement to have them bouncing ideas about. Soon they were talking past my understanding. I was left saying things like “Uh huh.” and “Sounds good to me.”.

Immigration

In my opinion, controlled immigration is important whether real world or eRep. True it is virtually impossible to regulate eRep Congress regardless of what button they are pushing. There will always be those that don’t want to go along with the crowd or want to make some quick country currency.

The Australian Security Intelligence Organization is back. This time we are hopeful that it will be a friendlier version. While it is apparent that no system will be foolproof I’m thinking this is our best shot at keeping an eye on who’s who.

Stojke89 has put a lot into this, as has Guagature. There was a situation where a citizenship pass was used to allow someone in without discussion. I mention it now because I don’t want skeletons in my closet. To his credit Stojke89 answered all my questions and proved to me that he is completely trustworthy. A poorly timed error I can deal with, a lie I cannot. I did not hesitate to nominate Stojke89 for ASIO.

Discussion

You may have noticed our MPP stack shrank. There are multiple reasons: To save money because there are no big wars* at this time; We’re in a state of shifting alliances; There is a redistribution / new placement of resources comming soon. (More on resources below.)

We also were considering swapping regions with Chile. The talks have grown cold and I feel no urgent need to reopen them this term. Any agreement would limit our MPPs and plans to swap region “tokens”.

*Egypt is currently messing with our friend Israel.

Nebula

There is some activity but to be honest I’ve not participated much. I stated my opinion that the way to build a more effective alliance would be to have active staff. I wish them the best and have no ill will toward any member of Nebula but I’m not offering to help rebuild from the ground up. Let me know if you feel differently.

New Alliance

Henry has had the S.H.I.T.s lately. (I hope he doesn’t mind my poking fun.) The idea is to create an alliance of eNations from our neighborhood. Southern Hemisphere International Treaty would be one possibility.

I’m open to other alliance options. Currently I hear no whispers on the wind so your guess is as good as mine. There is time yet this term if I poked around but I’m thinking it’s too early. The more major the rearrangment is the longer it can take. The last major change took an actual year in real time.

Resources

It’s coming. As usual no one has a complete picture of what’s going on. Plato has a habit of building on shifting sand. I’ll say no more about it, just wanted to point out that change will happen whether we are ready or not. If we are ready to discuss what to do I have been approached by PM Don Croata of Ireland. I’ve known Don for several years. Also, I’ve had dealings with Irish government too. They’d be a good choice to dance with when the music starts. We’re thinking a double AS. Preperations should be made whether with Ireland or someone else. Pretty sure the next CP will have to deal with this.

My congrats to our latest Congress members. I’d encourage you to keep up the activity. Bicker, complain and harrass, but keep an open mind while working toward the ultimate goal… FUN!

That goes for the rest of you too. Party politics is big in Australia, there is no doubt in my mind. Just don’t do the party line so much that you check your brain at the door.

I’m proud to annouce that I have taken over the Australian Defence Forces MU for Cody. I’ve already found a couple of new players there! I guess I’ve found a project for myself. Here I go again.
