I want to correct one furfy out there. This idea of a unity vote was ONLY to whittle down the number of choices so that a potential vote split did not deliver eAus to it's enemies. It was not the basis of my platform. My first article indicated I would play ball with the idea which is why it is in the title.

And, had wingfield elected to use it, despite my request many times to suggest another means than the forum then I would have respected the outcome as would have I think irule.

As it stands it appears to have been made to look like it's removing democratic choice to you, which is rubbish.

CABINET.

I plan on a small, active Cabinet. Those who have accepted have been clearly told to delcine if they cannot be active.

This is my cabinet and represents no deals.

I have picked people based on who I think will do a good job, with NO regard for age.

My primary driver has been people I trust, who I think get where I am going.

That's it.

SO:

I will have FOUR core Cabinet positions, and a Chief of Staff/Cabinet Secretary. What they do, who and why is described below:

Deputy CP

The dCP will speak with MY voice whenever I am not about. As far as I am concerned, if I am at work, not immediately available or it is a random 2am discussion I need someone in this role who can speak for me, as if I was there in the room - and, believe in my platform.

I therefore require someone I can trust implicitly to get my overall direction and not agree to things outside what I believe.

Otherwise it does not work, as there would just be infighting.

Therefore, my choice in Deputy CP is not based on trying out new people, it is based on someone I can rely on to do that.

My Deputy Country President will be: scottty

I have worked with him before there is no one I would trust more sitting beside me seeing this through.

Minister of Information

The MoI is EXPECTED to ensure discussions, happenings and events are communicated to the people.

This will NOT just be about what is going on in my government - I expect the MoI will also filter updates on world happenings of relevance to eAustralia, and will work with folk out there such as ronnyjnrjnr to ensure new players receive initial guidance and support.

I expect the MoI will use ALL modes of communication. In other words, someone who is active in-game, in IRC, on the forum, and by any other means.

The MoI provide these regularly throughout the term, AT A MINIMUM every week, on the week from 8 November. I will also release articles from my perspectives outlining what I am doing and what is going on.

Simple.

My Minister of Information has been invited (pending acceptance): irule777

I think irule would be a good balance. Apart from being an exceptional opponent, I think through being MoI he will ensure my Cabinet is partisan, and not perceived as just "my" people. In addition, he has obviously demonstrated he wants to be active and will be a great addition should he choose to accept.

Unfortunately, RL events have precluded the discussion I needed to have with him today - currently there are some apparent weather issues affecting the US. But be assured my offer is genuine and irule and I had previously discussed how we'd help each other if one of us was elected.

Minister of Foreign Affairs

The MoFA look at the lay of the land. They sound out who wants what deal with us, how and where.

I cannot stress enough that the MoFA and MoD teams need to work closely this term. I want it clear that if MoFA promises something, our Military can deliver on it.

Any alliance offers/requests or deals will be first sent to these two to assess. They will ensure a summary is given to me and to the people. I will not be accepting any major alliance deals unless you KNOW about it and HELP DECIDE - if it is an existing alliance and it is mainly about dealing damage (and getting damage in return) then you will most certainly HEAR about it.

Again, simple.

TWO PEOPLE will look after this.

My Ministers of Foreign Affairs will be: Diabolo101 and Tim_Holtz

Diabolo because she demonstrates some very good sense in talking with others, understands the current state of alliances (or deteriorating and new one's anyway) and is good at building relationships.

Tim because he can do the same and be very direct in doing so.

Minister of Defence

The MoD position is probably the best known in gov outside the PM - they set daily battle orders and the like.

But as I've said, this term they need to radically readjust their approach in how we can better coordinate.

I want them to support younger players, and I want them to work better across the eAus MUs and elsewhere. They also need to work with MoFAs to ensure we are back on the map. That doesn't just meeting sleeping at the wheel when we are not fighting for our regions. It means actively working with other folk to make sure we can point out the fact eAus can make a difference to other countries. THEN, using that for our advantage.

I see no reason to change the current management - but ultimately it will be MY MoD held responsible for doing this. While I am happy for internal ADF affairs to be run through him, it is in the end eAus money, from YOU and therefore a role directly accountable to YOU.

My Minister of Defence will be: Flatty

Flatty will be given a far wider gammit to effect changes to the ADF - in fact I expect no later than 5 days into my term to outline how the military will be funded and improved - in particular across coordination and new player retention. As I have mentioned in earlier articles, this is not about funding one or the other - it is about ensuring eAus damage hits at the right time, and supporting new players. Sure there is a risk people may be around for a short time, this is always a risk whenever you spend money on a new player - but to increase the overall population and people wanting to play and stay, it has been a tried and tested approach with our defence budget.

I will be PERSONALLY held accoutable for these people. I intend to take ANY and ALL flak for their work ethic as a good CP should.

I have spoken to each of them and made it clear that this month I will be running a hella active Cabinet. To this end, I have sought someone who is possibly borderline OCD to at best politely nudge, at worst mercilessly hound so that where we make a promise to deliver something, if I NEED something done (such as a new structure for the military, detailed budgets etc) I WILL GET IT.

It is important to note that the PRIMARY ROLE for this position, my Chief of Staff, is to keep business running.

Unfortunately, srg91 was unavailable for this. However, I have sourced what I believe is someone good for this role.

My Chief of Staff will be: Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen (Larni)

I appreciate Larni is a controversial choice for many. While Larni may have (and, I suspect will likely continue to express) her views on pretty much anything and everything, that is not why I have picked her for this role. One thing I am pretty sure Larni can do is make sure that cabinet member will be held to account for delivering ON TIME.

That INCLUDES me.

My next article, tomorrow, will then describe the check and balance I propose - a consultative group, appointed using the Top 5 Non-PTO'd PPs as well as an equal number of people elected by YOU, who will have complete access to Cabinet, and will approve the allocation and spending from the Budget to achieve my goals.
