[CAN] Enemy of eCanada List
Lord Beorn
We should do a better investigation of who we let into eCanada. Don't just click accept citizenship request, actually do some digging on that person.
Pietro999 is a prime example of what we should be screening for. Pietro999 joined a eCanada military unit and then volunteered to distribute the MU's supplies. Next thing you know Pietro999 is back living in Poland with Poland Citizenship and in a Polish MU, yet he had 4,000 weapons with him. Pietro999 stole from eCanada and should be on a do not allow in list for eCanada. Are government should make a list that has people who are known to be harmful to eCanada so that we are all better protected.

while I appreciate where you're coming from LB, the recent inactivity of our Commander, and my very busy schedule in RL really led to this mess. I should have just sucked it up and distributed the supplies myself. It was also around 4k Q7s he absconded with.
Lesson learned I suppose.
His MU is one of most respected MUs in Poland. I ve send his Commander link to this article.
that is good news. People need to know that there crime follows them, even if they leave that country they committed the crime
Just a question, how this guy who was in Canada for just a few day get in contact with MU funding? It's not really a lack in the citizenship process here but a big lack of responsibility from the people who let this guy get in contact with MU funding without a background check. He can't really hurt the Canada even if he is in with the citizenship, but let a new citizen get in contact with our MU funding is really ***.
he was around for more then a few days
Let's not start blaming people for whose fault it was, when we don't have any process set up to advise Congress or help manage immigration. Stuff happens and we deal with it
Another reason to get CSIS going again
"He can't really hurt the Canada even if he is in with the citizenship, but let a new citizen get in contact with our MU funding is really ***."
He didn't steal MU funding.
He stole the Holy Order's tanks. The Holy Order is completely independant, and doesn't get a dollar from the Government.
Thank God you aren't trying to run for political office frank139, because if you were you'd be woefully uninformed.... oh wait....
Things like this would be less likely if CSIS were still operational, assuming it isn't right now.
I remember CSIS...
When was CSIS ever operational?
I gave them ample warning about sawc and they brushed it off because he was one of their most 'active' agents. A program is only so good as the ability of the people managing it.
I remember doing plenty of work for CSIS several years ago.
"Another reason to get CSIS going again"
+1
you're all blowing this way out of proportion.
The story is thus. Pietro999 had been a member of HO for a month, Venerable and I needed help distributing the supply. We asked for volunteers, he volunteered. Everything was going great, until this latest drop, when I started seeing some folks complaining about not receiving supplies for 8 days. When I go to send Pietro999 a PM asking him what's going on, I notice he's now a polish cit in a polish MU. All this means that he left with 2 supply...
drops with a total of just over 4.5k Q7 tanks. It's not like we just picked some random dude and said "here, start supplying" he'd been doing it for us twice a week for a number of weeks. Anyhow, Lord Beorn stepped up and took care of our supply drop this week, and thanks to a generous parting gift from Simon Boucher-Ruest, we were able to get everyone their supplies.
No need for a new CSIS, no need for better immigration policies. I just need to be more careful. That is all.
When was CSIS ever operational?
@plugson : I was a member of CSIS for ages. I did a lot of immigration work. You not knowing it was operational means we did our jobs quietly lol. CSIS died when marc left.
@ Light of Palaero: What is to stop this guy coming back in 2 months and nobody remembers him? This article will be buried by then. I am sure HO won't forget, but what if he renames himself? This is where CSIS or a branch of the gov't that specializes in imigration helps. Keeping track of them. Keeping track of scammers in other countries through media and info exchange with other agencies. It is a huge job but it was something we did in CSIS on a regular basis.
CSIS never worked, it's a waste of time and effort.
@grinch you were part of CSIS too!?!
@Leo yeah, pretty much especially nearing the end
@Light of Palaero you have no idea what you are talking about. We did important work, you just don't know what everyone did, so how can you judge? After Marc left I have no idea what happened so that is when it may have crumbled but before that... we did a ton of good.
@klop yes for almost 2 years
The most basic form that we could have is a spreadsheet with 2 columns. 1st column, a username. 2nd column, description of offense. It's a simple thing that trusted government officials and MU Commanders could be allowed to edit. Have a couple people that oversee the document to review whether any entries have been modified or removed. With the recent introduction of Protected Ranges some of the entries can be sealed off from editing. If a person needs info on a person, search the first column.
As a matter of fact, it could be a an eWorld document for all government officials and MU Commanders to add to.
Now that I think of it, a spreadsheet form could be easily made to prevent unwanted editing.
This could be such a simple start-up that I may actually just do it if no one else steps forward.
bluebird, I already made one 🙂 It is up and running.
In additrion to username, you also need profile link as they can change their username with some gold. They can't change their profile # though.
Moi aussi j'ai été membre du CSIS!
It's funny to see some of my former ''employees'' (let's say colleagues) reveal they were part of the CSIS. 😉 And some who mentionned it in those comments were great agents, I gotta say!
CSIS was operational for a while, mainly until the beginning of our biggest project that never happened...
About immigration, even if CSIS had some difficulties to keep its staff, the main problem was Congress's inability (lack of collaboration) to follow the CSIS' recommendations (It worked well in USA.)
More specifically, CSIS' greatest realizations were in foreign and national investigations (and not only because I was Director of the Foreign Operations Department before being CSIS Deputy Director loll)
When it works, you may not have heard a lot from the CSIS unless there were crises, warnings or Court cases. But the Govts did learn a lot when it was useful.
I was a CSIS agent under Marcchella....... damn is that how you spell his name???
When he ran the show it was well taken care of.......
^this is true
the grinch can you provide a link to this list?
What does "it was well taken care of" mean?
You guys spent your days polishing rocks that no one cared about, and then gave yourself a pat on the back for it and called it a job well done?
The biggest "cases" in eCanada history were solved completely without CSIS. Wes Lewis blew the whistle on "Project Mayhem", and neoice caught 1ronman's theft. Both of which happened on CSIS's watch, yet they were nowhere to be found.
I lived in Edmonton during the 80s when the Oilers were on a roll and the Eskimos were doing fine, too. 'City of Champions' was short-lived, though the name still persists on signs here and there as you are welcomed into the city (at least they were there the last time I visited).
These days there is no hockey and the CFL hasn't exactly matured well beyond the 80s either, though it still persists, too.
There are a lot of similar trophies, titles, and relics in eCanada's trophycase, eh?
I'm very interested to have the link to this list as well. It would be great if it was widely known and used as well.
should really have background checks on all people when money and items are involved
Good idea to share the list in order to help MUs and even parties chose their Congress lists. Making it an enforceable document just won't work in eCan right now but making the info available for the discretion of MU and Party leaders would be a good asset
The biggest issue with the list, is that most of the people who would of been put on it have been eCanadian for longer then most of the people who would want to put them there.
Pietro999 was in The Holy Order for close to two months. I had spoken to him on multiple occassions and he seemed legitimate. People always jump to the conclusion that when someone steals it's some conspiracy or plot. I think in most cases people who do this just have some personality disorder or they know there will be no real consequences to their actions. Either way, great job Leo on holding together the MU during a few absences at the top of the leadership chain, including my own.
Thefts like this always make me lol. Maybe it's because my online gaming experience matured with the release of EVE Online, the online gaming haven for scammers and sociopaths, and still is as I check in with old comrades now and then.
Either way this brokers no discussion as it was private funding and no real loss, even if it was a crapload of money worth what most people here won't see even after a year of "playing". The discussion is what's to stop him from doing it again?
In typical eCanadian political fashion most of you choose to bicker like children over some old system that may or may not have worked in the past and completely ignore the question brought by the article.
Beorn, despite being the largest (and hairiest) man I've ever met, you've a very good point and a very easy system to implement. A "Black List" to be shared with other eGov's should've been started years ago, but it's not too late. My only addition would be to add the citizen link.
FYI Public enemy number 1 is still ROLO
