[Butjam5CP]-I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the rumours are true. My not so subtle hints have finally become a reality and I am formally announcing my attempt to run for Country President. Considering that I’ve already mailed a great deal of PP’s to charm my way onto their ballots, spilled the beans to a few individuals who asked me upfront and even publicly announced it on IRC one morning I’m pretty sure everybody knew it was coming, so I suppose I should tackle the issue of ‘Why?’

I’ve been asked that question in private, actually, so I figure I best answer it here too. Initially, I’d never even thought about running for this month. Not because I was afraid about my own competency or unsure of whether I was able to perform. The reason why I hadn’t planned to was because I thought my support was artificial, nobody really wanted me to run. But then I found out, much to my surprise, that it wasn’t just myself who thought I was capable, there were plenty others out there too!

I’ve answered ‘Why now?’ so now I’ll answer ‘Why at all?’ Well, it comes down to the fact that, at the end of the day, I quite enjoy the game and I guess I love the eUK. I’ve spoken at length before of how much I enjoy talking to the people I meet, playing with them and working with them. Nothing gives you a chance to get to know people and to help them out than working with them, so what better way to give my very best and improve my relationship with everyone than serving as President?

That’s what I’m here to promise. My best, my all and my cooperation is what I have to offer. Because I’m not entering this race as a politician, looking to put a crown upon their career, or to promote their parties interest.

I’m entering as a statesman, a leader who can stand up before his Government and public, whether they love him or loathe him, vote or no vote, with the strength to govern and the humility to listen. I don’t come before you as a member of a party looking for a vote, my own party hasn’t even given me their support yet, I come as a candidate for the eUK at large. I don’t want to represent my party, I want to represent every party, no matter their opinion of me or each other.

Maybe I’m an optimist with my head in the clouds, maybe I’m just a wishful thinker. But I have the conviction to follow through on my beliefs. I’ve seen this country do great things, punch above it’s weight and prove our value time and time again. I am insistent on seeing it again. I can’t promise you that it’ll happen in my term, but we’ll give it our best. I can’t do it all on my own, it’ll take the patriots within all of us to accomplish it, together, as a team.

So there we have it, Butjam5CP is a reality. My manifesto has already been drawn up and will be published over the coming days although chances are your party president will have a copy of the short form. I’m also very pleased to announce that the spectacular Ayame Crocodile has kindly agreed to be my running partner. I’ve seen him stand his ground on his beliefs and I’ve seen him have the humility to admit if he was wrong. I’ve witnessed first hand the work and dedication he puts into serving the country and I hope that his attitude and effort could be something for all of my cabinet to work for.

Finally, let’s see if I can get this campaign kicked off the right way. I’m not going to ask for you to be shouting for my election, or even this article (Although every vote, sub and shout is greatly appreciated!) I want you to shout the beliefs that should hold this country together. This is a time for patriots and not politicians, where we stand together as one nation and one team. So shout, “Patriotism, not politics!” everywhere you can, on articles, IRC, friend feeds, party feeds, MU feeds, absolutely everywhere. Because the only way to move forward is to believe we can
