[Boh] The Impending War: The Polish Hegemony

Day 2,008, 01:23 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Bohemond4

Dear friends, Waynekerr and readers,

Welcome to the second of my articles in my new series entitled ‘The Impending War’. Through these articles I discuss regions and nations on either side of the divide between CoT and TWO in terms of the balance of power and how the enemy may best disrupt the regions where their foes hold sway over the region, as well as locating and discussing potential front lines of any war where the balance of power will change hands.

Today, I will be exploring what I have termed the ‘Polish Hegemony’, a region often referred to as the ‘Pink Elephant’. Poland controls a huge swathe of land encompassing regions in Germany, France and the Netherlands providing Warsaw with 100% bonuses which will supply her factories to produce weapons and food for the war effort. With only a few weak points in this empire, Poland remains a key player in the alliance TWO. What is the strategic significance of Poland’s position and how may her enemies best target and disrupt this nation? Also, what are the potential ways Poland can mitigate and limit the damage inflicted upon their Empire?

Strategic Position

Poland covers most of Northern Europe with borders to Russia, the Baltic Nations, the Nordic Regions, the British Isles and, importantly, the USA. This means two things: 1) Poland can strike out against many nations, as shown in their history and 2) they have a load of potentially hostile neighbours towards the North and West of their Empire as well as internally.

The Polish Hegemony Day 2007

It is important to note the support Poland has in the South from Slovenia, Hungary and Serbia as well as Spain to the South-West covering her flanks for as long as they can remain strong against invasion. This means that an invasion of Poland is restricted to a limited number of borders, borders which have been drastically cut down due to peace treaties signed with Germark and France releasing ‘buffer’ regions, a process that can be carried out should an enemy approach to close to the Polish natural borders during the process of a conflict, although this would curtail their resource benefits and will be discussed in detail later in my article.

Within their strategic position occupying such a space, Poland can strike in support of any of the main TWO nations and many ACT nations should they face threat, likewise, Poland can hit out against various enemy nations. This makes Poland’s position essential in the stronghold TWO has built across Europe; an empire that defies the other blocs that exist in the eworld. Notably, we can trace the probable Western Front across the Western part of the empire, as well as noticing the continued Baltic Sea Front which will likely exist in the next massive war.

The likelihood of the front that exists in the West will lie between the Canadian/UK borders and be traced through the US-Polish border and down into the Spanish-American and Spanish-Mexican borders. As can be noted, Poland is in a key position to weigh in with their damage and influence in either of these fronts.

To sum up, the Polish Hegemony leaves Western Europe firmly under the thumb of TWO with Poland in a prime position to strike out against the key enemies in this area of the worl😛 America and Scandinavia along what is predicted to be the Western and Baltic Sea fronts.

Issues Facing Poland

While Poland occupies a powerful position and is a strong nation militarily, it suffers from that phenomenon any nation that rules an empire knows keenly: Resistance Wars. As seen recently in the cutting of Saxony by pro-EDEN and CoT forces recently this can be disastrous for a powerful empire relying on far flung bonuses, especially when engaged with another, powerful nation in a war.

This is the main point to exploit for CoT against the Polish Hegemony is the ability to start RW against Poland, although not as many as can be launched against Serbia. Launched in key linking regions or where valuable Military resources lie, Poland can be denied or, at least slowed, in controlling and linking their vast empire.

This said Poland is still one of the most powerful nations and TWO one of the most powerful alliances set to get more powerful with new alliances being forged. This means that any set-back is likely temporary and the only way to properly defeat the Polish Hegemony is to push them back to their original regions and then contain them. Only Russia and the US have the power to realistically do this, though, but it is a risky game – one may lose out and lose their own empires in the process.

Poland can avoid complete surrounding by powerful enemy nations, of course, but will achieve the main aim of the enemy nations: reduction of Poland. This would be done via releasing regions to Germark and France cutting lines between them and an invader allowing them the chance to regroup. Still, being in a position to launch a massive counter-attack even while losing resources is a valuable weapon Poland has in their arsenal allowing them to swiftly recapture lost territory and push the invaders out.

Finally, it is unlikely to be as easy to cut Poland from their bonuses now; the Czech Republic has now been assimilated again increasing the routes to France from Poland.

Poland controls a massive region of territory which, naturally, comes with various exploitable weaknesses but, through Poland’s diplomacy, military strength and ability to strike in a number of points at the same time, as well as being well defended and backed by TWO, they are in strong position and with the number 1 and 2 nations in terms of power, TWO does not lack for damage in this war.
