[BG] Opinion polls

Day 1,552, 02:19 Published in Bulgaria China by mihail.cazacu

Opinion polls are quite fashionable lately.

After NKFV published a large opinion poll in his newspaper, many others started their own smaller polls via shouts.

The latest I've received was:

"Hypothetical question: If tomorrow we NE Turkey, would you fight trough MPP, would you travel to BG and fight or would you stay neutral until the war is over?"

To which I have answere😛

"If Bulgaria NE Turkey I will fight for Bulgaria and for the other EDEN countries in many RWs. Because the whole EDEN, Bulgaria included, will be wiped out like it used to be before Turkey switched sides."

I was among the ones who believed Bulgaria's place should be in EDEN and I have good reasons to believe this is still the case. If my readers look up the previous issues of this newspapers they will see I have wrote on the issue starting with August 2009, when Bulgaria was still in PEACE, well before Phoenix was born and died.

I am lucky to be able to speak Bulgarian. While I was a student I was part of an international organization which also exists in Bulgaria, so I traveled often to Sofia, Varna and Veliko Tarnovo. Being able to speak the language came quite handy back then.

After a while I ended up working with Bulgarians because our company has an office in Sofia as well. And during this New Year's Eve I was celebrating in Sofia (and went out for a beer with The Graverobber, among other things).

I think those facts probably make me more knowledgeable on the issues the Bulgarians consider important than people who don't speak the language, have never traveled there and have only spoken with Bulgarians over the IRC.

Since I have been also a long time member of the EDEN HQ in the past, I am sometimes invited to give my opinion on various issues. Last night, while the summit was going on, I had the opportunity to give my advice on the issue of Turkey in EDEN.

My opinion was the following:

1. The EDEN countries will be deleted twice a month if Turkey switches sides again;

2. The EDEN countries will be deleted twice a month if Bulgaria leaves EDEN;

3. I personally prefer to be deleted twice a month having the Bulgarians on my side;

4. I prefer to be deleted together with the Bulgarians because while I like making new friends (=Turkey), I will not exchange a new friend for an old friend (=Bulgaria);

5. I prefer to be deleted together with the Bulgarians because only when we are deleted together it will become pretty obvious to everybody, Bulgarians included, why having Turkey on our side was a good idea.

6. Due to the reasons listed above I advised the other members of the EDEN HQ to inform Turkey her trial period in EDEN has ended. If Turkey stays pro-EDEN after that, everybody will be happy! If they switch sides, so be it! Boyan advised the same thing.

I see many people are optimistic that if Turkey is attacked by Bulgaria, then Turkey will be wiped out and somehow EDEN will continue to win on the other fronts as well.

The reason for optimism is the situation of Bulgaria right before Turkey left the pro-ONE camp. At that time Bulgaria had her colonies in Ukraine and TEDEN was evicting Poland and Serbia from North America. So if that was happening back then, for sure it can happen the same now, right?!

Wrong!

To begin with, Bulgaria had been able to rent those colonies from Ukraine because of 2 things:

1) Turkey was at odds with ONE so Turkey received little support from ONE in keeping the Turkish colonies in Ukraine;

2) Bulgaria had signed an Non-Agression Pact (NAP) with Turkey. So when Turkey lost the Ukrainian colonies and they were taken over by Bulgaria, Turkey was bound by the NAP not to try to recover them;

As for the TEDEN victories at that time, USA was able to push Serbia, Spain and Poland out of North America because Turkey wasn't fighting on their side anymore.

Now if Bulgaria attacks Turkey the NAP is void. And ONE, who currently gets its butt kicked everywhere, will welcome Turkey back with open arms. Wide open arms!

This is why my answer to the question if I would fight for Bulgaria in a Bulgarian-Turkish war is:

"Of course I will!

And I would probably fight more often in RWs than in direct battles.

Brotherhood means to stand side by side both in good times and in bad times."

And frankly, what does "bad times" mean?! That some pixels change color on a computer screen?!

Those who have orgasmic experiences when they built "Macedonian Empires", "liberate Texas" or "conquer Berlin" (many times fighting from the computer at work, in a German-owned Polish firm, while the German boss isn't watching) are, thanks God, in the enemy alliance.
