[Banach]~~Man, Don't Break It If It Ain't Fixed~~

Day 1,161, 14:19 Published in Canada Canada by Banach

Welcome to Paradise?
Within a day of my return to this once bustling and fruitful place I noticed several things that concerned me. For starters, the admins have changed the system so much over a period of three years that it is unrecognizable for the oldest players in the game like me. The problem is that these changes have been gradually for the worse. They are complicated, flashy and unintuitive...kinda like a Porsche 911 equipped with a pink hat and brail satellite navigation. Also of note is our dwindling population, plethora of useless political parties, general lack of interest in the social aspect of the game, and most disconcertingly, a lack of innovation and ingenuity.

In fact, if I had any experience with this game (which I don't!) I'd suggest that what I am witnessing is a regression. We were, a year ago, on the verge of an Atlantean megalopolis. Now, all I see is real life Detroit after it realized no one wanted their poorly made cars.

There is but one solution to consolidate Canada and end its potential for fracture: shift policy to simple, small, orderly and powerful government.

Yes, you heard me. What (e)Canada needs is to revert back, retrace its steps to late 2008 or early 2009. The military needs to be kept as simple as humanly possible, and privatized. The various political parties need to be abandoned and rule concentrated in two or three distinct, powerful political groups with explicit and detailed agendas.

The Citizens here need to feel like Canada is, at its core, a powerful and stable power. A centralization of power through streamlining of the military and political aspects of this country should be key aspects of focus to encourage a Renaissance.

What should be the focus of any strengthening of Canada is PRACTICALITY. If there was one wrong thing from with past regimes (when I was around) was that we introduced concepts that were invalid for the game. Arts and culture and justice was next to no place in this game.

Its about POWER. Its about the money, the guns, and the influence in politics. Nothing else. Build a government around those concepts and everyone will have the basis for secure and productive (e)lives.

Alas, to that extent, I'm reentering politics with one mission in min😛 Moulding eCanada in the image of its founders...a country that is powerful (but not aggressive), unified (to a reasonable extent of course) and a flourishing centre of innovation and creativity in eRepublik.

All I know is that this weak, chaotic, pathetic image of eCanada is not doing any gamers any favours...least of all me. If I step out of my year long retirement, then It better be in the atmosphere of a fun f&^king game.

Cheers,

Banach
