{Aus DoFA} MPP Renewal with the USA

Day 3,054, 22:28 Published in Australia Australia by Australian Foreign Affairs

Hello eAustralia,

As per all of our countries MPP renewals, the current government presents a Pro/Con article to inform the general public and also the congress members before proposing or renewing any MPP. The reason for this, is we are aware of the ever changing political landscape that comes with different governments/congress and also the effect this has on a wider international scene.

In the next few days, eAustralia's MPPs run out with 3 different countries. Some of these are relatively new MPP partners, while others are long time friends and allies of eAustralia. But no matter there relationship, be it new or old time friend, the DoFA will continue presenting these articles before proposing the law/MPP.

USA

The eUSA could be considered a some what new MPP partner with eAustralia. While they became more of an 'official' friend a few months ago, with re-occurring MPPs with us, they have always been on our side for quite awhile.

eAustralia and eUSA do not share the same alliance, however both countries have in more recent times found a way to work together and discuss each others actions in the opposite neighbourhoods. From eAustralia's AS in Cuba to help free them, to the more recent eUSA/eIndo war.

Both countries have also had a sorta 'unofficial' exchange program, were many of our citizens have spent time in the US and many US citizens have spent time in eAustralia.

What are the Pros to this?

As always with MPP renewals/proposals, the DoFA tries and goes through the Pro's and Con's to it. In writing these articles, the author will try and remain impartial, however sorry if it the wording slips to one side or the other. But enough about that, lets get started. Here are some of the Pro's:

- Further strengthening of ties with a new/ish allied nation.
- While Australia has not had a need to call upon eUSA assistance, past US CPs have always reached out to see if Australia needed a hand.
- The eUSA tends to be more out-going expressionist country, which allows the ability to set more CoTD's for the Australian government.
- Opening up avenues of closer co-operation with the Pacifica Alliance (Which the USA is apart of).
- The eUSA has a lot of military might behind it as well as diplomatic clout if things get hairy for eAustralia.

What are the Con's to this?

- Cost of 10,000cc for the MPP (DoF has assured we can easily afford this MPP cost)
- Conflict with other countries (While the expansionist policies will benefit Australia with CoTD, it could draw us into a war with another friendly country, which will cost pre-existing MPPs)
- Potential issues with long time friend Serbia. (While eUSA is not in direct conflict with eSerbia, they have been known in the past to differ on a lot of things)
- The Persian Plunder issue. (The retaking of an Org being used by eIran and the funds in that org, 3mil cc, being deposited in the USA accounts.)
- History of Revolutions/Dictatorships in the eUSA. (Internal warfare could result in the government that is signing the MPP, being different to the government in a weeks time, so their policies could shift)
- Recent history with eIndo. (In the recent past, eUSA and eIndo have waged war. While eAustralia is not directly affected, Australia becomes a target as a stepping stone for allies to help eIndo.)

Conclusion

The DoFA sees the MPP renewal as some what slightly more questionable then our other MPP renewals. This is mainly made due to the Persian Plunder issue and also the military based doctrine of the eUSA. However the DoFA also understands that this is not the result of one country, but the path some politicians take. All in all, the facts have been presented and like all MPPs, the government will never force any congress member to vote Yes or No.

There are some benefits to it and there is some risks involved. But as a true democratic country, your government leaves it up to the elected congress members to vote the way they feel is right.

We here at the DoFA ask the citizens and congress members to feel free to ask any questions, to discuss this proposal. The law will only be proposed 24hrs after this newspaper is published. And as always, if you have questions, please ask them.
