✺ ✺ ✺ Asia Song Festival Thailand! ✺ ✺ ✺

Day 2,181, 18:13 Published in Thailand Thailand by Mystela

Thailand is one of nineteen countries invited to participate in the 1st eAsia Song Festival!

✺ ✺ ✺ ✺ ✺ ✺ ✺ ✺ Hosted by South Korea! ✺ ✺ ✺ ✺ ✺ ✺ ✺ ✺

I believe that music plays an important part in our lives, so I've accepted the invitation on our team's behalf. The guidelines are clear & I know that together, we can choose a really good song to represent Thai in this contest.

Summary of the Requirements
1 – Thailand must submit one song, in any of the Thai language dialects.
2 – The song should be hosted on YouTube.
3 – The song link should be submitted to the Festival, by publishing an article in our media, with English subtitles & this must be done on, or by November 13th. *

* I can write the article with our final choice for the contest, or if the person whose song is chosen would like to write the article, then that's fine too.

Voting – Pacific Time (subject to change)
4 – Beginning November 16th., each participating country will have their song featured in the Song Festival newspaper, published in South Korea with English subtitles, where all eRepublik players can vote for the winning song.
5 – Voting will end on November 18th.

Prizes & Support
6 – The Song Festival would appreciate sponsors or support of any kind & also, suggestions on how to distribute the prizes. If you have suggestions about the distribution, then please post them directly in the original article, unless you want to discuss them here first. Please feel free to post any other questions or comments about the contest here as well.

Thai Team Participation
This is a great example of traditional Thai music, dance & culture, but it's not a song & even if it was, it would be way too long. Watch it to 0:40 to be charmed by the sweetest dancer ever!

The song that I used in the CP article, King of Kings is beautiful, very emotional. They used traditional Thai instruments but with orchestra as well, so the Thai instruments kind of get drowned out. Also, because it was written especially in honour of the King, it's very reverent & doesn't really represent Thai in general. It's a bit on the long side as well I think.

Let's try to find something that really represents Thai through our team's eyes, that love of life, that smiling culture, that playful Tranny flavour! something full of movement with great Thai sounds.

I'd really love to see one of you win this contest!
If you find something that you really like, not necessarily what I described, then please post the link here & if you want to, with a comment about why it appeals to you. It can be modern as well, as long as it's in Thai. It's whatever you feel gives you the best chance to win. There can only be one song, so if you find another that you like better, then please reply to your original post, with your newest link.

On Tuesday, November 12th., I'll edit this article to list each of your final song choices & we'll all vote on those, to decide which song we want to submit as a team.

I found this just now as I was looking for images, so I haven't checked it out yet, but it looks like a legitimate site with safe links & it might be a good source of songs. 🙂

EDIT
If this contest is well received, then the organizers are hoping to make it a monthly event. So you should keep track of any songs that you find this time, that you feel are potential winners, for possible use in the future.

Any comments or votes posted to the songs now, won't be included in the actual voting on the 12th., so please feel free to comment or vote on people's posts for now, as you normally would. On the 12th., I'll publish another article, with each of your final song choices listed in the main body, in random order & that's when we'll vote for our contest entry.

I don't know why my little heart thing looks like an owl? 😒 It looks exactly like the one that CyberGirl posted, so I'm including her's from down below just to see what happens. http://prntscr.com/236obi
