[AS] Romania's Suicide
The Australian Socialist - A left wing look at the world
Reporting on military, politics and foreign affairs
Editorial
Romania has brought it's own death to itself. By being so big, by conquering more than two or three countries non-peacefully, it has created too many fronts. It conquered Moldavia, Hungary, parts of Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Pakistan, plus parts of occupied India and China. But now it only has nine regions, all of them being their own territory, and PEACE invasion looms everyday. They have killed themselves. But, thankfully, they have also killed the alliances. And that's what I'm going to explain, in fuller detail, with some fiction, too, today.
What else is going? Scotywest, our MoI, is under fire as prices rise under the “needs” of the wargames (more like the needs of capitalists), how things are going in the rest of Australian politics and, of course, some world news. All that, and little more, in the Australian Socialist.

I’ve decided to end that story competition, because no one was interested, and it didn’t really get started. So tough luck to anyone who was thinking up a great story.
Romania's Suicide: History of a World Conqueror
Today, I'd like to say a few words about Romania. Not necessarily good words or bad words, but just some words about a nation that, by making itself so powerful, brought it's defeat. Romania was a nation of cheap products, constant wars, high levels and good wages, a very livable place to live and a place that, by conquering too many countries forcefully, destroyed itself.
Romania started its conquest with a war with Moldavia, the first war the country was directly involved in. This is possibly what started Romania on its way to superpowerdom. The next war, a war that put relations between otherwise friendly countries, Romania and Turkey, on the brink. Ukraine had a MPP with Turkey at the time, and Turkey put in most of the force for this war. Still, Romania still won over Ukraine and conquered it fairly easily, never losing a battle. This was another route to their superpowerdon and, again, their collapse. Another one was their war with Slovenia, opening up yet another hole in Romania.
But the biggest route to their world superpower rank was World War One. World War One, which came as Atlantis and PEACE were being formed, and just before the two alliances started making MPPs, and through the entire history of this incredibly long war, which only maintained because of Hungary's ability to keep a single region or so. But both sides still fought an incredible amount and Romania finally installed itself as leader of Atlantis. But this began its down-bringing.
With so many PEACE borders, including Russia, Romania would be in danger if it wasn't for its giant amount of power. So, they decided to PTO Russia and retreat all their regions. Easy. But, eventually, this eventually opened up fronts with Pakistan, Iran, Indonesia and China. And, so, eventually, the wars came. Hungary opened up the front again and gained back all its regions. Various other small, Eastern European countries opened up fronts, Russia freed itself in parts and opened up fronts and Iran and China, otherwise inactive countries, opened up fronts. But the biggest threat was Indonesia, who eventually gained back all Romania-owned Chinese and Indian regions then began work on occupied Russia along with Hungary. Their number of regions diminished incredibly quickly and the Romanian accusations of PEACE cheats and their boycotting of war helped, too.
So, today we mourn the country of Romania, the head of the good and the bad, the conqueror of the weak, but the liberator of the powerful and the weak. We mourn their loss, and along with them going goes Atlantis, and subsequently PEACE. Goodbye, Romania. Goodbye, giant alliances. Goodbye, imperialism. And greetings, regional alliances! Hoorah for the collapse of Atlantis and PEACE! Hoorah! Amen.
Greed: The Vice of a Capitalist
And here’s a piece of my more political work. I have to admit that, for the last few months, my only writing of politics has been in the Senate, the Cabinet and in my Manifesto’s for the Senate. But, why not, I’ll do some more political stuff.
There is a small problem in Australia: the pricing of most companies is very high, especially in weapons and Q1 food. Why’s this? Because greedy businesses are exploiting the wargames, which means citizens require weapons, but only Q1 food, and prices can be raised. And do you know why that is? As the title suggests, it’s greed. Capitalist greed.
Before wargames, the companies seemed to sustain themselves fine enough, right? They made profits; in fact they made quite a large amount of money. But now, the lowest price for Q1 food on the market is $1.26 and the second lowest is nearly $2. Some prices are even as high as $2.60! I believe that the recommended price is $1, so the companies, who are able to make a profit, are exploiting the situation. So are the Q1 weapon companies. Before wargames really got underway, prices were from $7-9, now the lowest is $16! Obviously, again, companies are exploiting the situation. Typical capitalist vice.
So what can these companies do to correct their ways? Well, correct their ways as much as capitalists can (jokes, jokes!). They can lower their prices as low as they can to make a profit of around 50c per product, or raise their wages. A good balance of both would be good. They won’t make as much money, but it will be better for the general population of eAustralia. Do the right thing, capitalists.
Damn, I’m going to make so many rich enemies with this article… Calibur is the best capitalist in the world! I hope he forgives me.
Here Comes the Citizenship!
Don’t know much, but it seems that, according to this insider article that they are implementing a type of citizenship! Not much about it, only a short history of PTOs was said and that the team had started brainstorming ideas about the module. Other news there was that the region of Jammu and Kashmir, a Pakistani region, has switched hands to India and is officially an original region of India, although it currently belongs to China after their conquest of free Pakistan. It is a good gain for India as they have only two regions, and it won’t affect Pakistan much since it has become a desolate, occupied, empty wasteland and most of it’s prominent citizens have moved to Switzerland to join the Theocrats.
Australia’s Politics a Young Stew
At the moment, Australia’s politicians are some to youngest ever. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, but there is a Cabinet member who had never even been a Senator and was an Apprentice for only a short time (Aussie Vegeta) and half the Cabinet are in their first term. Ranger Bob ran for the first time last elections and somehow got over 30 votes! In fact, one of the reasons the ADSP has the majority is because of the number of young Senators we have.
So what’s the future looking like? Frankly, the three Prime Ministers, and perhaps myself, seem to be the only active, Cabinet politicians that aren’t completely pre-Australia and aren’t new Australia. All others have become inactive, in my opinion. The future looks young; in fact I expect a very young Prime Minister next election, or very soon. Zaney bless the old.
World War Three: Nearly Over
Now that Romania has submitted, or so the rumors say, World War Three is essentially over. Not completely, but essentially. And now the world at war can continue on other fronts. Such as Germany.
Germany is being, for the second time in Erepublik history, subject to a Swedish invasion, and it seems Poland wants a piece of the pie. They both have started battles in two regions where Germany is just managing to keep the wall in the middle in Sweden, and has, with the help of Atlantis, sent Poland into No Man’s Land. Why? Well, Sweden is still angry after Operation Burning Spirit (an operation in which Germans opened up Resistance wars in seven Swedish-owned German regions, so this war has a grudge.
This war looks like it could possibly develop into a full-scale, inter-Atlantis war. Which means the collapse of big alliances. Hooray!

Cabinet member who had never even been a Senator or an Apprentice (Aussie Vegeta) and half the Cabinet are in their first term.
Facts are wrong he was my apprentice
Woops... My bad, I wasn't paying attention there!
WW1 to correct you was a PEACE VS ATLANTIS confrontation in which ATLANTIS continually creamed PEACE, WW2 again PEACE VS ATLANTIS this time in France both alliances were pretty much even with both sides taking regions at different sides. WW3 Romania VS Indonesia and Co, (Pakistan is ally of Romania with a Romanian president), both sides have been crushing and being crushed most recently with Romania loosing due to refusal to battle with cheaters. (Mass fighters have been using Q5 Weapon and gold cheats, some maybe without their knowledge, tho maybe not)
Romania sought all those battles btw.
Weapons never got to 7AUD they were 8 at cheapest, and 16 at most expensive not 16 at cheapest. Also the reason you will notice the raise in weapons prices is because they were selling well below the RRP to stay afloat and have increased their prices so they can survive until the next war. Any player who gets involved in weapons needs to learn that and fast. If weapons companies don't then we loose our industry.
Weapons do generally sell at break even in times of peace and cash in in war times.
I suppose i fall into the "pre-Austrlia" category?
I guess i would class anyone under 6 months as "young"
