A taste of things to come
Now that the Unity Process Primary is over for the upcoming election, this article is just to let you know of a couple of the things I intend to happen in the coming month. This isn’t everything by any means, but just a little taste (as the title suggests).
For a while now there has been overlap between the Department of Defense and the National Security Council, and it has been unclear who does what and who reports to who and miscommunications happen as a result. So, no more Department of Defense. No more National Security Council. Instead just one Department with one Secretary in charge of it. Welcome to the new Department of War, with Secretary of War Cromstar and his staff directing damage where it is needed for both us and our allies.
It has been much noted by many, myself included, that there isn’t enough fun stuff happening around these parts lately. Too much ‘srsbsns’ going on all the time! So, I have tasked the Departments of Interior and Education with working together with a few volunteers on a new program, Operation Funstuffz. I already know that they will be working alongside Congress to try and get some fun things in the works for everyone, to remind us that we are a community not just people sitting in isolation pointing and clicking buttons on a screen - there is far more than that to a lot of people here. So let's be daring! Let's be dangerous! Let's actually dare to have some fun.

Dislike of the Department of War :/
With the increasing rise and prominence of private MUs, the NSC is more important than ever!
I think you miss the point - this department will do that stuff too!
I think means that he is an elite and you did not clear this idea with them first.
Is this a repeat of what FG did during her term with the "defense" team? Because that didn't work out well.
Maybe I'm missing the point but this would seem to be restoring the old old (prior to A^2's Presidential Term) hierarchy where the NSC Chair reported to the SoD?

Oblige. The point is that there is no need to complicate that department by splitting into two teams, the deputies of which all do the same jobs anyway. We constantly have miscommunication and sometimes no communication from one half to the other, and frankly if someone can't deal with the whole package (just like they do in most other eCountries) then they shouldn't be in the job anyway

I like the Department of War but this idea seems to decrease the importance of the NSC Chair.

These things are more fun when you set them up that way from the top down. Personally, if I were the eUSA CP, I'd rename the Dept of Defense the Ministry of War, the Dept of State the Ministry of Peace, the Dept of the Interior as the Ministry of Love, and then fit all other departments and government agencies as additional ministries under those three heads. A triumvirate, as it were, without a vice president. Just my $0.02, never to be implemented.

That's a very parochial view. It may be happening in odd pockets of the community like maybe one or two parties, but that's only a subset of the players in this country.
We must be thinking of very different things, then. Looking forward to government sanctioned good times.

Department of War--Not only must the name change, but practices/process must too. Consolidating directives is not the answer. Consolidating communication may be.

I am disappoint.....
I do love WAR though!
Me thinks this MAY be only be the first step in the reorganization of the nations command structure. The more MU's that join AIM (and the more AIM organizes it's independent command structure) the more the nation reverts to a JCOS system, but unfunded. In such a scenario, the third leg of "government" is restored. The Executive's Sec War position is diminished.
None of this having to do with THIS reorganization specifically, but possibly a result indirectly of the new (old) reality restored. But with the funding issue a most serious twist.
