The Big Domestic Project
Part of what I've always loved about this game is finding new ways to bring people together. Whether it was through my Valentine's Day Chocolate Shop idea, or the old UIP Winter Festival, I've tried to experiment with innovative ways to celebrate our community bonds. With September, I want to take this to new heights.

Fall is a time of change. Traditionally, it is a time when people help one another to bring in the crops of their yearly toils and join in a celebration of that excess. It's a time of carnivals, of county fairs, and basking in the warmth of bounties before the winter.

We deserve a break, and more importantly, a chance to celebrate ourselves. We have spent a lot of time working in our various fields in game. Now, it's time for harvest.

Logo subject to change.

Beginning September 7th and running for a full three weeks through September 25th, I have planned out a Harvest Festival for this country's enjoyment. A veritable cornucopia of contests, raffles, and games await, but not only ones in game! Along with all of these wonderful in-game events will come events that will be held everywhere from Steam to the forums of various parties. Awards will be given, gifts will be shared, and I hope a good time will be had by all.

Along with many great beverages.

Now, the planning for this will take a great deal of time, and I while I truly believe in the capabilities of my Citizen Affairs department, I believe they could use additional coverage to help put on. This is why I have assigned Blande to be Harvest Festival Director. Blande has proven to be a competent organizer and a spirited optimist, and will be serving as a go-between for DoCA and Media proper and those who are specifically working on the Harvest Festival itself.

We deserve to treat ourselves, and more importantly, you all deserve to feel like your time here is valued. I hope to show you that in many ways, the Harvest Festival being one such method. This will be a government which works for you, and is active for you. So get your overalls ready and your pumpkin carving skills sharpened!

A Less Foreign Foreign Affairs
Without laying too heavily into the issue or spending too much time bemoaning it, I will simply state that our Foreign Affairs for this past month has been lackluster. Our nation and our alliance is an interesting position globally, and one which can be expanded. Pacifica has done well for us in the past, and has been sorrowfully sidelined.

We attempted an AS of South America. This failed due to poor planning, poor assessment, and poor timing, simple as that. We have been moderate and fair-weather to our allies and their needs, and our newest alliance member Colombia has suffered to that end. It is time to be the better ally we can be, and to seek our new avenues through which we may help Pacifica grow.

You know how the old saying goes.

Our alliance situation is unique. While we have been cordially pro-Asterian in many of our interests, I believe it is in our best interest to get off the fence a bit, so to speak. Nations such as Hungary and Romania, who have been on the periphery of our bloc and involved themselves with many of our more direct allies, deserve a closer interest. Slovenia has been a valuable and powerful friend to many of our friends as well; now is the time to get acquainted.

My administration has already begun building bridges with several other countries, countries I believe will bring us not only short term gain for ourselves, but long term prosperity in the overarching scheme of things. Just as we have potential in our own lands, there is great opportunity in others.

Pacifica should not be dismissed. Under the guiding hand of eShades and the guiding hoof of Derphoof, I hope to right this ship of ours. It's time we set sail for greater adventures.

Please pardon the sailing allusion at the end. I spent most of the weekend in the ER recovering from a corneal abrasion, and subsequently the eyepatch I'm wearing has me yearnin for the high seas. A great big thank you to the American Military Party, the Federalist Party, and - our newest T5 - the Socialist Freedom Party for deciding to nominate me. I am honored and gladdened, and excited to share next month with you all.
