[Appleby/McKay] Save our Babies!

Day 1,625, 08:59 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Sir Humphrey Appleby

Good evening gents,

It’s been a fairly long week in terms of political drama but I’m afraid I’ll have to subject you to further pandemonium when I humbly ask you consider my ideas and candidature. I don’t think that things have been taken seriously this month with the current CP campaigns and we’re in a genuine danger of losing a once-in-a-few-years opportunity to consolidate a good, solid, healthy baby boom. The fundamental focus of our government in May should be on its retention. We’ve never really had a boom rate this huge since V1, and it’s a game changer if we can educate, train up and subsidise our new citizens to form the backbone of our national liberation.

For one thing, there needs to be clear and consistent communication from the government in the game itself. It should be a minimal expectation; information will not trickle down to the average Citizen on its own. We need at least weekly reports from the Prime Minister in game with the progress and events of the country, along with full statements from all Ministries. Ministers will set themselves goals to aim for by the end of the week, and will explain how they succeed/failed in reaching them. Apprentices in each Ministry, regardless of party or age, will be given a tutorage by their minister and me to help train them up to succeed our generation in governing the eUK.

We need to put our money where our mouth is in this effort to maintain a growing population. This month has seen a total of 80 Grants awarded to the sum of £400k to help set up town halls and beginning funds. We have additionally loaned out £180k in 1 month bonds to help people establish their companies and storage. The NHS currently has over 60 Citizens on government health (2400 Q5Food/day), who remain on state healthcare until they are 1 month old. We can make the NHS even more efficient by subsidising all their health used the previous day by tracking their xp rather than rank points (bringing companies and training into account). The average food saved from those not using it will be more than enough to cover those who use more than 400 health daily.

We need to use our National Health Service to get new people actively involved in the community. I therefore propose we move it into the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Home Affairs with mailing lists on events, elections and strikes enjoyed by the entire eUK Community. To back this up we need a National Education Service with people prepared to go out of their way to give these new citizens a warm and welcoming reception here in the country, along with offering and explaining guides (such as the one ApronChef’s currently developing).

Thanks for reading; I’ll be publishing my Military & Foreign Affairs Manifesto tomorrow.

Yours,

Appleby
Prime Ministerial Candidate

Rodney McKay
Deputy Prime Ministerial Candidate

And have this mento-coke rocket for getting to the end 😛.
