Hello fellow AMPs,
Today for a while I write you a PP address. My reduced capacities regarding internet and all that have been hurting me in terms of getting articles out and producing media, but everytime I have a chance to use someone else computer, I will try to get a piece out. Meanwhile I'd like to give my public thanks and gratitude to Artela for telling me exactly which iphone applications to use to make sure this works out and I can still do more stuff.
Congress elections - Revamping?
Well, I'm using the term revamping because there is something in discussion among the leadership and the party as a whole. As many of you recall from previous months, we have been using a system of primaries to elect our candidates for congress, this system is based on the premise that the Party President picks the first 6 priorities for congress and the rest is decided through a congressional primary held in our forums.
A new system is being suggested and this new system is basically giving the party the entire choice of who runs for congress. Basically there would be no granted seats given by the PP and all priorities would be voted in. We are designing the system in order to include 6th party candidates who wish to run under AMP and as usual, the system will keep the same requirements it has:
- Passing the security clearance to be on the ballot.
- Having a minimum of 80% in the congressional preparedness quiz.
Without this conditions, the candidate doesn't have the minimum necessary to be a quality candidate and won't be added to the ballot. We use this measures to exclude potential security threats and to train our congressmen the best we can so they don't commit mistakes during their terms.
You may find this discussion open to the party here: http://www.ampforums.info/forum/thread-226-post-4133.html#pid4133
It is with great dismal that I announce the results of the AMP Primary, being the nominees Paul Proteus and John Largo. The results were as follows:
John Largo - 7
Paul Proteus - 5
While John Largo isn't actually running and he only accepted his nomination so we could have a vote, this clearly shows the state of lethargy around the party. Something that, being completely honest, worries me. It worries me the fact that only 11 people answered to this primary.
Now.. instead of pointing out the problems, it is time to try to point out solutions! One of the things I've been pushing the leadership to do, other than getting stronger Recruitment and stronger Retention, is really making things more simple. I've been consulting my security team in order to leave our PHP poll off-forum and hold our polls within the forum itself, I found some resistance there because otherwise we won't get enough data to actually check the votes, so instead I decided to hand blondeninja the autonomy to code something within the forum poll to make this feasible without risking security.
Well, it is no secret that after what happened with AMP, we are locking down the house even more. Therefore the security department is building a database to include everything regarding each single AMP member registered in our forum and have a threat level associated. We are doing this so we can keep track better of who is good and who's not. As soon as this internal project is finished, the AMP, in cooperation with some Federalist officials will be creating a crossed database so we all have access to more intelligence regarding our enemies out there.
After what happened, we will not allow any more security threats. Be scared serbians, we will find you, we will destroy you and we will banish you from the very place you blown us up from within. Make my words clear: You will not PTO this party ever again!
Retention and Recruitment
Right now the AMP is looking for new players and fresh blood! If you want to join a party where friendship is the word that knits us together, then we are the place where you should be!
We have awards programs to give to the most dedicated AMP members!
We have free tanks programs to give to our active members in our forums!
We are also looking to assign a dedicated person to lead the new players around the party and show them who is everyone and what each party department does! Don't hesitate in contacting a member of the AMP leadership for anything you might need!
As many of you know, the former Party President John Killah decided to extinguish the AMP Legal Department. While we do have a current party constitution, me and an old former Legal Director named Brad Gwatney have been discussing the changes to perform in order to make this better and prevent PPs to keep changing the document into things more complicated.
Being blatantly honest, our current constitution is not very good. The old one I received when I was Legal Director when I was like 3 months old was way better conceived than this one and the purpose of it was to legitimately organize the party and have a set of rules. The idea is to create a new document simple and effective and that document will include a Legal council. The Legal Council will be in charge of keeping the constitution clean and stable and will be in charge of making sure the PPs apply and follow it. The Legal Council will have a term of 3 months and each member will rotate.
This project is still being drawn and will be better proposed soon, expect more news then when the final version is out!
Thank you and kind regards from your current AMP Acting President! I am also pleased to say that the leadership infights have ended and the old climate of friendship is coming back, but we gotta fight lethargy now!
