[AMP] No Unity for Us

My fellow AMPers,
I have good news. The American Military Party has decided that we will no longer support the Unity system.
For all of it’s flaws, the Unity System did provide a necessary security measure. I would like to thank the Party Presidents that came before me that established this system. It was a necessary evil. But evil nonetheless.
There have been elections in our past, where there is a PTO element present. This isn’t the first time that we’ve had enemies in the elections.
However, I do not believe that the PTO is strong enough to win, even if our vote is split two, or maybe even three ways. Their power has faded, while ours has grown.
The election is 24 hours, and our voting power comes at the end of that time frame. If the PTO is in danger of succeeding, there are numerous countermeasures that can be taken; including changing avatars, late withdrawals from the race, shouts etc.
We have the ability to win this month, without Unity, and I see no reason why we should continue with such a flawed system.
The other reason we have made this decision is because we will not sit back and support a system that so blatantly favors one party. The Federalists have amazing activity on their forums. Something that should be applauded, and copied. But they are attempting to use that activity to secure Presidential nominations for their candidates.
This month, they have extended their primary in an attempt to capture as many votes as possible, and boost their party’s candidate into the lead.
I understand politics as well as anyone in the country. But this is just a little too far for me. The Federalists have a long history of some of the most upstanding elections in America. To change their format during such an intense and hard fought election is wrong.
Speaking of primaries, MAKE SURE YOU VOTE in the AMP Primary. It’s open to all members that have a forum account.
I strongly encourage everyone to vote. Even if you don’t have strong feelings towards any of the candidates, primaries give you the chance to really push your voting power.

I'm the Fed party Political Director, and VPP. I made the decision to open the primary early by 18 hours or so, it will close tomorrow evening on the first of the month like it has every other month. If you had concerns IS, Fed party leadership would have loved to hear about them first. I'd also like to point out WTP has a primary going, and it's running the exact same length of time as ours.
If you want free elections I applaud you. I have always been a fierce opponent of Unity. Fierce ATO efforts have made leaving unity behind possible. Making a straw man out of the Federalist party as an excuse to abandon Unity, is neither necessary nor in any way based in the realms of truth.

And WTP does not have nearly the same standard that the Feds have. You know this. Comparing yourself to them does you no favors.
Early isn't early if you tell *every* candidate it is starting early. That's called either saving time, or changing the due date with everyone's approval. I fail to see the faults in that.
Also, implying that WTP has low standards...nice. I assure you, WTP does its primary well enough for any Party. Don't drag WTP into your bash-Feds fight.
Listen, I am actually too tired to care this cycle. But IS, you're flat out playing low Politiks with that Fed Bash. The fact I'm defending them should say something here.

WTP had questions when Ten/PP campaigned. AMP had issues when it was JJ/FG. USWP was just always assumed to be Pfeiffer multies 😛

The Feds didn't manipulate their elections. They just told everyone they'd start early. That's all.
I mean, i fail to see the bad-ness about that. Better than starting late, right?
Also better than extending it past the time it's supposed to be done. That would be unacceptable.

I don't care how a party chooses the CP candidate they wish to support, what I care about is a party with 100 voters who could be moved to push the AFA New out of the Top 5 and that party doing nothing to help America; what I see is a party who puts themselves above country....
Be an American Patriot and move to NLRP...!

We probably shouldn't get too carried away with bumping up NLRP, lest we give IS a new Fed controversy to manufacture. The truth is that despite the efforts and migration that Feds have put into ATO, we haven't let it keep us from running the party effectively. This is why our numbers remain strong even though we have sent significant membership to two ATO parties now.
Great! Now all we need is for the true American Patriots in the AFA New to move back to their own parties...

Israel I applaud you for not dragging your feet and being a man of honor and humility. The Federalist have used the Unity system long enough to abuse their power as the leading Political Party. We do not need to be pawns in their game.

Yet only recently has it favored us. The last two elections I believe. Before that it favored the other candidates heavily since a lot of people seem to have an undying hatred for our party and the one vote per party system kind of killed any chances for any candidates we would have run to win.
Only the most recent, actually. This month, it would favor WTP, if they had a candidate, since they have the most votes. Besides, it's it kinda common sense than 40 people get 40 votes and 20 people get 20, not them both getting one?

My intentions were made clear to my fellow Top 4 PPs before any primary started.
So rather than announce it immediately, you wait until after the Primaries start, then lay part of the blame on the Feds.
If your intentions were clear prior to the Primaries, why lambast the Feds at all? Why not announce before the Primaries opened that you had no intention of supporting Unity this round?
Mostly because I didn't get around to writing an article.
The people that needed to know (PPs, candidates, etc) knew. That was all that mattered at the time.
I believe that your version of unity favors the Feds far too much. Their decision to open their primary early, only reinforced my decision to withdraw.
It favors active parties and the T6's by giving every participant a vote, just like the ingame system.
If you're unhappy with the level of turnout you had for your Primaries, you could have worked on that rather than picking up your toys and going home, then painting yourself as the person who freed us of Unity, rather than the person who simply decided the current system didn't favor them enough.
Old Unity rewarded just being in the T5, the new system rewarded activity. BOOOOOOOOOOO ACTIVITY!
The two of you are missing the whole point, the FEDS could move enough citizens around to drive the AFA New out of the Top 5 making Unity totally unnecessary; instead they would rather stay #1 and F America....

You may not have been active for it, but unity can start dying fast now because of the ATO effort put on by most of the top 4, especially feds, WTP, and lots of MUs. Killing unity has been everyone's goal.
...then you won't mind moving about 75 -100 of your members to push the AFA New out of the Top 5...!
We've been MMing the party to move to the NLR. You could also help the country by not being an in-fighting bitch.

Taking the credit for ending Unity is one thing, even though you were nonexistent in the ATO efforts.
Blaming the Feds for it, when it was Josh Frost & kody5 (Fed, Fed) who spearheaded the efforts of the other T4 parties to bring about this new era that you're somehow now playing the hero of....pretty low

Naive? Sorry IS, but it seems you are looking for folks naive enough to ignore two things:
1. Your strategic announcement to position AMP as the first party to make a stand against Unity, when more prominent death blows have been delivered to the system over the last week or two.
2. The fact that the AMP candidate seems to be running a distant 3rd in total primary votes, when it has already been agreed that the top two primary winners could run for CP.
So you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by so shrewdly putting your foot down here. In fact, this move is irresponsible and selfish if you consider how much a 4th non-AFA candidate (I'm including HeapSeppo's run) could dilute the voting.
I have a major issue with you dragging my party (Feds) through the mud. Our party has played a major role in helping stop the PTO with Josh Frost and kody5 leading the charge. We have always wanted open elections and are not trying to game the system which before last month favored candidates from other parties because we're disliked by many and the one party, one vote system was much easier to rig since you'd only need a handful of multis in other parties to pull it off. The most recent system, one person, one vote, is much more difficult to rig. It just so happens that our last two candidates are well liked and respected in parties besides our own and we have a large voting bloc. Spur activity within your own party before blaming us for the system in place favoring our candidate.
Prove that by moving citizens to other parties to push the AFA New out of the Top 5....
If you payed any attention at all, you'd see that our membership falls before elections. We can't do it by ourselves though.
Also, two clickers won't move. We have quite a few.
The Feds are the only party that can afford the numbers and still remain in the Top 5, the Feds seem to be able to move those kinds of numbers during ATo operations; so what's the problem with moving to support America -'Bot Farm' owners not cooperating?
We have a ton of two clickers who won't move and that's the reason we can stay in the top 5 but still move people.
