[AMP] A History Lesson & An Announcement

Day 1,629, 09:35 Published in USA Canada by Haliman

Well folks,

We are quickly approaching the one year anniversary of the birth of the party. I’m pretty excited!

You may recall that I lost that election. A lot of people were saying that we failed. They said the party would die. They said the idea was pointless, and that we would never take off.

But we pressed on. At the beginning of my first term, (at this point, we had 8 members) we joined forces with the Fraternity Party, and they graciously let us use their party as a home. Though I was not PP in game, I still worked my butt of to get a party structure ready for when we did become a Top 5 party. They let us get all of our new members in one place so we could prepare for the next election.

And that we did. If I recall correctly, we surpassed the American War Party at the very start of my second term. We laid the smackdown in our first congressional election, winning 44% of the seats up for grabs. We ran on a platform of fairness, diversity, transparency and . We strove to be the very best party there was, and we succeeded. By the end of my second term, we were the second largest party in the nation.

When I took office a third time, I shifted my focus inward. We had the numbers. We had the platform. We had the congressional lineup. At this point, we had to focus more time on the longevity of the party, and insure the AMP go on to succeed for months to come.

The hardest step in the birth of an idea is the first. The most important step is the second.

It was in this term that I worked closer than ever with Kria Erikson (my successor) and Israel Stevens (her successor). Both of them worked hard to improve the party, in my cabinet and their own.

Kria was always more elegant than I was. Let’s face it: I’m rough around the edges. She was also the PP that presided over the forum migration. That’s why she’s the Kween. And I’m just the fish.

Israel brought the party into the spotlight by using in-game articles for the first time as a medium for PP addresses. I couldn’t have done that because I’m incredibly boring. And a fish.

We have come a long way since I was PP. We really have. The party has matured greatly in the last year. So have many of the members of the party. I’m incredibly proud to say we still have many members from the days I was PP. There are still a lot of the same faces. But a lot have left.

I feel like we are still on the right track. But I also feel like we have lost sight of our original platform of fairness, and have become increasingly self-destructive. The infighting must stop. We are our own worst enemy when it comes to realizing our destiny of becoming the nation’s number one party.

I do have a point in writing this article. Shocking, I know.

I’m running for AMP Party President this month.

If you ever have a problem with another member of the party, myself, or a member of another party talk to me. I’m not going to lash out at you. I’ll try to find a solution that is mutually beneficial to everyone.
