6th Annual eJapan Cultural Awards (Winners)

Day 2,931, 15:26 Published in Japan Russia by shirosakura

So, before I begin, I want to make it clear that participation in the cultural awards must have been an all-time low, with literally one ballot being put forth. In a regular setting, a nominations article would be set forth, but there's simply no need if one one ballot came in.

I think this, more than anything, shows the shift in culture that has occured in eJapan in the past year. The people who supported events like these have long come and past, and those that remain are few and far between. Because our dysfunctional, exclusive, political system is something I have discussed at length, I won't wax on it here, but here are the winners of the 2016 Cultural Awards.

EDIT: There were pictures, but if eRep is hosting, they don't display properly in the articles. Go figure.

They were also a regular Diet member and died as a member of Tsunami.

There we have it. In retrospect, it's also telling that many of the people on this list are no longer around. Will there be a Cultural Awards for 2016? Who's to say? But if this tradition continues (and I hope it can), I hope the eJapan then will be ready to embrace it with open arms.
