[Kvakksangerne] - The Road Ahead

Day 3,127, 03:19 Published in Norway Norway by Yanisin

This article was Gold Endorsed by Plato himself. Hope you find it interesting.

A few days ago Fiona LNX - a new member of our community - released a short but important article called "Stop leaving the game". She asks why people are leaving and what we can do to make people wanting to stay.

It's not easy to lock people in chains to make them stay. The game soon reaches its 8th anniversary and we all know perfectly well how much eRep Labs has screwed up the game that once was great but was allowed to be degraded into a cheap copy of a war game mostly promoting the players e-di**'s and ego.

I can easily understand that eNorway seems quiet and with not much action. To explain who the norwegians really are, you should listen to Innerst I Sjelen by Sissel Kyrkjebø. This is our soul.

These days it's all about fighting and the game allows its playerbase to deteriorate into simple two-clickers frenetically hitting the fight-button. Most of the time players don't even care when or where they hit, or for who for that matter. Most players fight for CO's. All for personal gain and not necessarily for their country's best.

Add to this that in order to be succesful in the game it is the meaning that you spend real life money to be as strong as you can be to earn respect in the game. And if you throw a million cc's on the table you can be DICTATOR! Yeah!!!!11one!

It's so lame ...

eRepublik was initially made as a social experiment and to some shady extent it still is. The last years at least taught us how many di***eads there are in this game, and how much power corrupt most people. These days eRepublik itself seems to be corrupted. Why else do they allow people to have multiple accounts? Don't even try to tell me that the multies couldn't easily been removed if they wanted to do so.

So it's easy to see that the environment eRep Labs has given us isn't the best for creating thriving prosperous societies where people can shine but it is possible. It's all up to you and if you as eNorwegian are willing to give a little bit of yourself and your time to create a dream we all can believe in.

We have friend feeds, party feeds and MU feeds but the majority of what is posted is about some guy winning a lame pixel medal. eRepublik has become a victim of the passivity most people feel in the world today. They want to be given, not so much give.

Most people don't want to invest their time on making eLife better for their friends. They want to have shiny medals and if possible take over a country to screw up eLife for many other people. In fact many of the dictators should read Freud and understand what he says about the human need to be biggest and best. To have the largest d**k so to speak.

Here in eNorway we have had several attempts on take overs, both millitary and politically. The last failed attemt was performed by some chilean outcasts that still hangs on to their long gone dream of taking over eNorway and to "fight for democracy, fight for Norway" as they called it. Luckilly eNorwegians are able to spot a lie when they see it.

Norwegian history eRep day 2887 - 3050. Bored childrens definition of fun!

As I said every attempt on a take over of eNorway have failed so far. Will the next one fail too? I honestly don't know. Some very strong and valuable players have choosed to leave eNorway for selfish reasons. Or to be specific, to maximize the profit from their companies.

It is sort of understandable, but everyone must understand that eNorway isn't a country for fame and fortune in the first place. It is a country for eNorwegians, where we quietly and peacefully are allowed to be eNorwegians and doing things our own way.

Here in eNorway we have people willing to give their food, weapons and money to help other players in need. Xibbard has a huge store of food ready to be given away and recently Morten Asphaug announced he wanted to give away all his stock too.

We don't have a lot of fighting, we don't go to war with other countries. What we do is to help other countries that are being attacked and we have a good reputation in the eWorld because we always have stood up for our friends. eNorway always stand up for other small countries and we play our foreign politics with a moral guideline of what is the correct and most ethical way to solve situations.

What we should do is focusing more on making good diplomats to be a neutral third party in other eCountries' difficult negotiations. Developing eNorway's role as peace diplomats is something Kvakksangerne will work on to achieve.

"Utsikt over Lærdalsøren" - Themistokles von Eckenbrecher

Fiona asked an important question and Kvakksangerne will continue its work on finding out what can be done and constantly work for a better future for eNorway and for the eWorld.

Kvakksangerne is a party founded on the wish of making eRepublik a better place for all of us. We believe that to be happy in this game you have to free yourself from the chains the game wants to put you in.

We have many plans, but we lack the people to do all the work. I can't do everything myself, neither do I want to. To be able to improve our stay in this game it is much better that we work together, sharing ideas and together come up with plans and improvements to the game and to the country.

Ome of the plans we have for the future is an eNorwegian Pulitzer prize, but then again there's no point in a prize for good journalism when we don't have anyone releasing articles.

If you would like to write articles, here is a short guide for you:

[President's office] - Encouraging media activity in eNorway

All in all, to be able to have a blooming eCountry we need everyone to want to stay here, sharing their souls and working for a better future and contribute with what they can. Be more active to put it short.

We must work to make eNorway a country other like-minded people wants to move to. Now that it will be possible to have your companies placed where you want no matter of your citizenship, my hopes for a better eNorway is higher than before.

In fact it seems like eRep Labs finally have woke up and understood that they must take their players more seriously than has been the case so far. They have announced several plans and I do have hopes for the future of this game.

Because eRepublik isn't only a game for the gorilla's frenetically hitting the red button whenever and wherever with no purpose. It is much more a game where intelligent people can be social, can share their artistic work or intellectual thoughts.

Where people can have fun and interact. Where we understand that we can't promote or support elitism. A place where we can simulate what a good life can be if we only give a little bit of ourself to others.

If we only invest a little bit more of our time in this country and in this game.

"Solen" - Edvard Munch (Fun fact: Yanisin grew up where this painting was made)

Being a member of a political party in eNorway isn't like being a member of a real political party. ePolitical parties aren't orientated like in real life. You can perfectly well be right, or left in real life and still be a member of a center-orientated Kvakksangerne if you want.

Kvakksangerne is placed right in the centre because that's where we want to be, and that's where we belong. Being in the centre means being neutral and it frees up time and resources to do other more important things in game than political fighting.

The political orientation the different parties in eNorway have picked is probably a bit misleading. Thank Heaven for Liber8 and their outrageous Center-Right Liberatism-orientation. If it wasn't for them Kvakksangerne would be described as a right wing party in eNorway ...

I don't know why all parties have decided to gather up close to, but not quite to the center. Perhaps we all are very similar but I would thought the differences in political orientation was bigger in eNorway.

I am not writing this to ask you to become a member of Kvakksangerne. It's up to you where you want to be a member but I will end by asking you who are not member of any party in eNorway to at least become a member of one of our parties.

(No chileans, I do not mean you are welcome. First you need an approved citizenship, not the fake, forced citizenship you hold by abuse of power. If you had any decency left you should just leave any eNorwegian party, leve eNorway and apply for citizenship from another country if you really want an eNorwegian citizenship. Until then you are not entitled for any political membership. Here's what you are entitled to.)

Join up, make yourself heard and start the work for what you believe in in this game and eLife. I can promise you that every party in eNorway has a room for you. If you are a passive member of a political party today, change your attitude and invest some time in this game. Work for what you believe in with friends in your party and if your party are not interested, change party.

Yes I mean that! Change your party if you feel you don't belong in your current party.

Choose the party where you will be heard and are able to do your work from with sufficient support from the party and its members. Choose a party that will let you grow in game and personally. We have many parties in eNorway. Find the party that respects you.

Make congress proposals, write articles, use the feeds more active and do your best to make other people interested in what you have to say and what you want to improve in this country and eventually in the game.

Don't support blindly a guy who's only wish is to become a dictator and offers nothing in return. Don't support elitism by passively doing what they tell you to do. Think for yourself and be the best You you can be.

Don't play to hurt other people like Elvis and his Quantum does. Those laughs they provide you with are fake. They laugh behind your back too probably.

Play the game so that it feels comfortable to you, not like a boring day to day duty you have to do with no heart in it and as a member of a party where noone knows who you are. Sell your non-profitable companies, relax and allow yourself to be free in the game.

Don't let eRepublik drag you down. Break The Chain and play the game on your own terms. Make your own rules and play the game so you are allowed to be yourself as a free and happy spirit willing to contribute to others.

We are all limited by time but we all also can choose where we spend some of our time and where we want to put our heart in. Investing a little bit more for the greater good of eNorway is at least for me personally worth it.

To me that's the road ahead in this game.

I want to thank you for reading this and repeating Fiona's insisting title:

Stop leaving the game!
