29 October, 2009, Day 709 of the New World - So after a lot of editing, coding, and image searching we finally have a Jewitt/PigInZen platform up!

We as a duo want to stress the importance of our principles which we are running under. We want to build a basis for active and involved citizens to thrive, we will push for information superiority, military sustainability, fiscal responsibility, and work on building post-war international friendships and defend them.

Principles are what we strongly believe in; they will end up guiding our policies. Rather than a blanket list of policies and suggestions it's good to give you all a background about why myself and my running mate are making these platform decisions.

For those of you that do not want to navigate through what I tried to make an easy "table of contents" based platform, here are the main points:

Domestic Policy
* Need to increase overall active citizens
* Lay the groundwork for a babyboom-like service
* Find methods to increase citizen involvement in the government
* Adopt a "we come to you" attitude when it comes to training and mentoring

Efficiency and Technologies
* Develop a Citizen Database to go alongside an InfoHub of vital national information
* Centralize and standardize our means of communication, including on the forums
* Use the Citizen Database to increase training and mentoring effectiveness
* Keep the door open to other management opportunities via technologies

United States Armed Forces
* Push to increase the sustainability and self-efficiency of each branch
* Take advantage of the high work skills in the branches to heighten quality
* Continue to improve our infrastructure and citizenry when we need it
* Focus on training "the citizen wall," and not fueling tanks

Foreign Policy
* Adopt a realist view of how the social aspect of this game works
* Branch out to all nations, neutral, EDEN, PEACE for positive relations
* Consider joining EDEN if Gaius Julius does not do so already
* Stress the importance of a Pan-America Doctrine of non-agression

Sure, it is a song, but I came up with this idea when I came up with something that will take a lot of effort.

I have always used Presidential Elections and their voter turnout to gauge how many truly active citizens we have in the United States. Last month, we had around 4,200 voters. Compared to before the war we increased over 1,000 voters. That is 1,000 voters in four months, or just 250 active citizens a month. This is unacceptable, as on any given day we average around 200 citizens being born. So what this tells me is that around 4.3% of our born population stays and remains active.

I will aim to improve this. SirEkim began work on what he called "REACH," which was a program aimed to advertising eRepublik and the U.S.A. as a nation on various gaming sites, Facebook, twitter, and so forth. It was shadowed by the war, but with Hungary out of our backyard we can now begin working towards this program and others.

My ultimate goal is to achieve 10,000 active citizens by January 1, 2010. Of course, I have said all over the place I may not be President in December due to various concerns, so my administration will aim to set up the programs, build and improve the current framework, and establish a clear message: We want 10,000 voters, fists and voices, in this nation by the new year.


Few may notice this, but the thread 10,000 Fists! coincided with this plan.

Open government means opening the doors to all citizens. As it stands, only sporadic IRC use and complaining in the General Discussion of the eusforum.com site is the only way the everyday citizen can talk to their government officials openly and address key issues. Under my administration, we work for something both myself and my running mate have worked for in the past.

Both myself and PigInZen are fans of letting history show you our credentials. In January I began work as a congressman to disclose congressional legislation after a certain period (for security reasons) to the public. I continued this on by sitting on the first Budget Committee as both an Economic Council member and congressman, as well as worked closely to the White House Daily Briefing and the forums. PigInZen has also worked towards this, with a now month-old project bringing IT technologies to the United States and improving efficiency and communication.

To top this off, a Human Resources office will be essential. With this addition we also will be addressing the concern of citizen retention. There are hundreds of American citizens wanting to be involved in government work - no matter the job. The creation and backing of this Human Resources office, paired with the 10,000 Fists initiative and its implementation, would increase over 40 new jobs in the executive branch alone.

With the ability for climbing up the ladder as involved citizens employed under these new programs grow, we will be able to address issues which have been rarely targeted by previous Presidents: Inactive or under-driven department heads. Allowing a sort of meritocracy, these citizens will move up the ladder and replace those which are slow, inactive, or would be better placed in another field. PigInZen himself, being Chief of Staff, knows first hand the practice and art of directing and micromanaging a group of people to a fine science.

Congress already is doing a great job in accountability and tracking and disclosing how your tax payer dollars are being spent. What I want to do is just come out say that under a Jewitt Administration, this would be heavily stressed to where the Executive Branch would gladly disclose to Congress our expenditures. Due to security concerns, some may have to be delayed up to a week but they will be disclosed and properly appropriated to the Budget Committee and Select Committee on Intelligence.

I personally have had a long history of closing the gap between the Executive and Legislative branches - just ask any congressman currently serving or past. As a former congressman and then adviser, I am well versed in Congressional precedent (as I was part of the two Congresses which founded them) as well as procedure and practice. I plan to continue this even as President, as Congress is the other half of our government within the confines of eRepublik.


This looks familiar...

PigInZen, with my full support, has been working like a dog with Killing Time and others to revamp and reorganize the eusforum site, layout, and placement of forums to make navigation easier and more refined. Already they have drafted a rough outline of forum placement, and couple this with our plans of increasing uniformity and standardization, the Rizon IRC Network used by the United States populace and government alike are also being changed.

Many have noticed this by seeing that we have moved from the Rizon room #usa-chat to #eus. Instead of having #congress or #military, we will be having #eus-congress and #eus-military. This way finding the appropriate channels are easy to guess and do not need a map to navigate.

To compliment all of these initiatives and hopeful programs, we will continue stressing the importance of the Welcoming Committee and the Mentoring Program for new citizen outreach and interaction. PigInZen's work with Killing Time and others via IT technologies will be honed in and set to increase the efficiency of these programs, not to mention give the Human Resources office some extra work and possibly more interested employees.

A small mention I must say, only since it is not a major public concern yet, is that if elected I plan to offer a block grant system for any independent organizations which are willing to fulfill one of four key functions:
1. Citizen education and mentoring
2. Citizen relocation to Q5 hospitals
3. Weapons supplying and distribution
4. Food supplying and distribution to new players


I asked myself: Who is on the 1 USD bill in-game?

Using the citizen database which PigInZen has spearheaded, we would be able to fine-tune this to precise citizen names as well as direct these independent organizations effortlessly. Smaller organizations would be placed in direct competition with bigger government programs and would drive the initiative to perform well. This also would take the focus away from the United States government and allow us to concentrate on our armed forces staffing and Human Resources - as well as the 10,000 Fists initiative.

These programs will only be grounded and founded under my hopeful administration, as it would be impossible to do all of this in one month. What I hope to do is follow in the likes of President scrabman, where he laid the groundwork for future administrations to use.

Information Superiority

Sorry, no table of contents. This is pretty straight forward!

It's become apparent to both me and PigInZen that the only way the USA as a group is going to eclipse Hungary and other world powers in ranking is through focused and targeted means. That means we will have to make use of every tool at our disposal to identify, track, and group citizens. Fortunately eRepublik has a means for us to compile citizen data from the game - it's called the eRepublik API. The eRepublik API gives us the ability to find out information regarding citizens such as location, rank, experience, wellness, etc. It also allow us to get near real-time statistics on battles, damage, populations of specific regions, and many, many more elements. It is my and my running mate's plan to leverage the API through building a national database to allow us to do some remarkable things with government. We're also very fortunate as a nation to have a wealth of talent when it comes to database and web programming.


Wasn't this a great idea? I wonder why no one has tried this before, to be honest.

In order to fully organize this effort I will be supporting the immediate creation of an Office of Technology. The Office of Technology will be responsible for maintaining all of the technological assets of the USA, from the eUSforum.com site to the InfoHub to the soon-to-be-developed database and its applications. It will also maintain the official IRC channels of the USA as well as keep documentation concerning each of these assets. Information management will be our golden ticket to the Willy Wonka Factory filled with all sorts of treats for current and future citizens of the USA. It will be the means through which we become a true superpower and leave the rest of our competitors in our rear view mirrors. As I've alluded to elsewhere in this platform, I want the use of technology to pervade every aspect of government in order to give us more bang for our bucks and make us more effective and efficient.

I am not known for my military experiences, but that is because in this respect I have been very behind the scenes. What I have done in the open, however, I would like to share - as well as what I hope to accomplish.

I started my true military career in the United States Airborne (USA😎 where I was one of the first fifty to sign up. My first deployment was the last until the Invasion of North America. During this time, I was extremely active in the economic combat planning as well as deployment logistics. While deployed, we went in under the guise of PEACE Global Community avatars and I was given the opportunity to start the resistance war in Jerusalem District - where I was e-born.


About 30 of the USAB servicemen wore this during the deployment, we still joke about it.

I am far from a military commander, despite being a Lieutenant in the USAB. I am far from a military genius, despite being involved in most war decisions since mid-July. I am far from a battle-worn hero, as my competitor boasts multiple battle hero medals and I have only two. I do not command a large independent group of well-trained soldiers, and I am not mentioned when people ask "Hey, I have a military question!"

What I am, is someone who knows what is going on. Since mid-July, I began working on the financial and monetary policies that would back our military. The tax plan I aided in the construction of in February of 2009 would fuel this burning desire to consume USD and GOLD to save our nation. With it, I would directly advise Harrison Richardson, Emerick, and now Gaius Julius on how to best spend our money. With Gaius Julius, I also worked on ways to cut back on our expenses while maximizing our battle benefits. Thus, military self-sustainability and ranking programs were developed with this initiative.


Yeah, stuff like this was made in self-sustainability factories. Pretty awesome, eh?

Military self-sustainability was first explored by this very paper, and it hit the Top 5 media with large amounts of support. Unfortunately, the "To do List" had a "public accusation" and thus the article was deleted. I did not save it, so it was lost. Regardless, that release in June was the precursor to my work in the USAB to create a self-sufficient branch with its own iron, weapons, and possibly tickets companies where the workers would be soldiers paid in weapons.

It was an immediate success, and with the USAB and United States Marines (USMC) they proved that such a program would work. Other branches, including the Army and Mobile Infantry, have begun their own independent programs with their executive-issued funds. I plan to executively improve the qualities of these factories. The USMC and USAB are stuck at Q1 and Q2 weapons only - I want the Marines and their high-skills to be manufacturing Q5 weapons and the USAB to be making no less than Q3. This will only benefit the nation with an initial investment that has proven to give unlimited positive returns.

I have always been a critic of the tanking strategy when the "citizen wall" and "free damage" was a far better option. I sometimes went so far to be willing to lose a battle if our enemies were having to tank thousands of GOLD to win where our citizen wall succeeded. However, one thing has stayed true: Since my debut in December of 2008 I have always advocated training of non-Generals/Field Marshals in the United States Armed Forces.

Under my Vice Presidency and the direction of Gaius Julius, we initiated the Weapons for Nubs program, which was renamed Guns for Huns (To shoot them). In the first release of this program (of using stockpiled Q1 weapons which guarantee over 100% increase in damage and training) we sent out over 3,400 weapons. In the first three times we used this program, over 10,000 Q1 weapons were distributed to citizens, the true militia, which would had otherwise not been able to afford ten for the entire battle.

Our ranks increased, our citizen retention was boosted, and our morale skyrocketed. If you have read the earlier parts of this wall of amazingly fine-written text, you might have caught on to the fact that efficiency, citizen retention and involvement, and increasing our overall strength via the every day American is at the top of my priority list. I will not stop at focusing on arming our Privates, Lieutenants, Captains, and Colonels all the way to General and eventually Field Marshal.

Right now, we have a "come to us" system with the citizens needing weapons being required to join the national forums. This does promote more forum use, but I believe is the wrong method. With our technologies plans also included in this platform, we hope to be able to set the precedent of (nearly) automated "we come to you" methodology. This includes distributing weapons, possibly watching those whom fight as ordered via the Department of Defense and then for the next battle they would be awarded five to ten weapons for their following orders - and this would be repeated for as long as we could afford it or until they became a Field Marshal.

Of course, this training will not be perfect. I will only have a month, but in this month, I hope I can make the difference and continue Gaius Julius's tactic of focusing on the "population wall" and not tanking.

Fiscal Responsibility

Since I am Vice President, I don't have a lot of time to campaign.
So stuff like this really is all I'll be getting! Get on it!

The Budget Committee came out of the wood works in March of 2009 and I served as an active member as an Economic Council representative. With the first commission of a budget, we finally did something that had never occurre😛 Government accountability. Something I have fought for since my entrance into the game's politics in December of 2008, government accountability had manifested itself in its purest form.

As we stand today, the budget is being reworked post-war. During the war it was forsaken to give 110% to our armed forces. Now that we are no longer fightig for our very livelihood it is necessary to begin work on the budget. The President has no authority over this and never should, but the President represents 50% of the government and must have at least a strong say. With my current relations with Congress and my already accounted-for communication between the branches, I hope to maintain a smooth and fluid cooperative effort on part of Congress and the Presidency - the purse strings and the branch that takes the USD and turns it into something better.

Paired with my intent to increase military efficiency and citizen disclosure, I hope to increase government efficiency in its spending habits for the long term. Too many times do we see Presidents who do things to make them look better, maybe get reelected for a second term, and place a bandage on the problem. When Emerick took office, a main complaint he and I had was a lack of savings on the executive branch's part. This put us at a severe disadvantage, as did the fact that documents to outline and streamline cabinet work did not exist.

Time is money, and lost time is money that will never be recovered. In arguing over who gets what position, or in what branch needs more funding, we are wasting time that could had saved us in excess of hundreds to thousands of GOLD. It is with this that, complimenting our Information Superiority policy, I hope to make the most savings.

With great power, comes great responsibility. I heard it from a movie where a loser did not go after the cute red head, but the truth of the words remain nonetheless. The Executive Branch, with the Legislative, at any point in time manages on a weekly basis thousands of GOLD and hundreds of thousands of USD. Accountability is tough to maintain, as Congress is already working on it but the executive is far from even looking at the issue.

Under my administration, I would strive to disclose all non-Top Secret expenses and discretionary spending as in compliance with my previous promises. Reporting to Congress, I would make the Presidency have a relatively transparent, hopefully biweekly expenses chart which congressmen and citizens alike can review.

Add to this, the fact that our VAT taxes were instituted to create a bit of revenue from occupying consumers (mostly to weapons and food). Now that war is off our soil, we should work towards getting Congress to consider dropping all VAT to 1%, and returning to the all-income tax scheme I was a part of planning back in February.

No matter what happens, Canada will always be our first priority and I am sure the citizenry of our northern bros feel the same. With that cleared up, I think we need to address a few issues.

EDEN, although focused in Europe, has given us an open invitation to join since its conception. When the North American Invasion occurred, the formed Brolliance of Canada and the United States allied with EDEN countries to form The Allied Forces. Even up until today, we still cooperate a such. My competitors have brought this issue up, and I will say this: If it was not for EDEN, we would not be able to have Presidential elections over 51 regions right now. If it was not for EDEN, we would probably (for the most part) have to have this article in Russian or Portuguese.

Therefore, if Gaius Julius does not approve of our joining of EDEN before the 5th, I will stand ready to sign into the alliance on the 6th of November if elected. We essentially are in the same alliance as it is, only officially call ourselves "Brolliance, not EDEN." I do want to stress the fact that I would join EDEN as it stands now - a defensive alliance freeing oppressed nations. If its mission statement turns aggressive, then my judgment would defer to what I have said repeatedly and will keep on saying.

I will never support an operation which involves invading a neutral or non-threatening nation.

However, many know that I have worked over the past two months to increase relations in South America and Asia - the most highly publicized evidence would be the victories in India over Iranian occupation. It is my goal to continue this, regardless of PEACE Global Community, EDEN, ALA, Sol, or neutral ideology. Under my administration, a nation will never be labeled "EDEN ally" or "PEACE enemy."

What we will base good and bad relations off of are each independent nation's response to imperialism - unwanted warfare and oppression of sovereign nations. Indonesia, Hungary, all exemplify this trait and are on the opposite side of the battle field due to it. If a nation stands against imperialism and oppression, they can stand with us. This anti-imperialistic doctrine, I must mention, also applies to our would be future allies in EDEN. EDEN was formed as a defensive alliance, and must stay such. PEACE Global Community was designed as a defensive alliance, and now it is nothing more than a behemoth trying to consume the world for is own benefit.



With this, I want to make clear that I intend to make our primary focus, short of defending our allies in EDEN and supporting our bros up north, to freeing oppressed people around the world. I will make the United States a safe haven for any peoples wishing to leave their oppressors - we saw this happen when South Africa was consumed by Brazil and Indonesia earlier this year. This offer will remain open for my entire Presidency, and I will work with former government leaders to efficiently and practically bring about their independence once again.

To compliment, I also will never send political takeover units for sole monetary or social gains. Political takeovers should not be used to oppress people, but to be used as a weapon against countries threatening our allies or our homeland directly. I have personally taken part of and managed, with the brilliant aid of Killing Time and others, countless anti-takeover movements over the past three months. I also partook in my first and only offensive political takeover - to oust France from effectively consuming our entire nation and Canada.

These should be the only methods that a takeover be used - to defend the homeland from an eminent threat or to prevent an innocent nation from being manipulated against its will.



WahooBob was appointed Secretary of State via my recommendation on the 6th of October. Since then, he has proven his weight by redirecting, managing, and increasing activity in the State Department both domestically with the Citizenship Task Force (agency which does background checks on citizenship requests) and internationally. With him, we have worked with European, Asiatic, and American delegations for a more positive and progressive future.

I will push for the State Department to be extremely activist, hunting down and maintaining dialogue between friendly and hostile nations alike to prevent any misunderstandings, unwonted conflict and projecting our message to the global collective of sovereign nations.

That picture is pure fun and means nothing directly. I want to see Latin and South America unite politically with the United States and Canada. We may never agree, and we definitely have international policies which conflict - the Brolliance and ALA. I hope to bridge this gap, as I have been in talks with South American leadership for some time, on a "No conquest war in the Americas" policy, a Pax Americana.

Received well, I wish to continue talks and negotiations on this plan. With it, I hope to achieve various agreements such as preventing warfare in the Americas. This would even apply to our international allies. If some nation such as Spain decided to attack Brazil, or if Russia decided to attack the United States, all of the Americas would have to join in and defend the American nation regardless of international alliance affiliation.

Of course, this is just a proposal and far from manifestation. If elected, it will be a primary focus of my foreign policy while complimenting my views of outreaching to all nations and freeing occupied states.
