-1 Admin or +1 EDEN Admin?
I got the shorter stick, so I am going to write this article. I bought food for 3 days, just for safety.
You may probably know Moonlightshadow, a player who became part of the Admin team about a year ago. After a while he took over the Insider and started writing those articles. If you wonder how I know that, he sometimes published the Insider article in his newspaper to format it correctly.
For a very long period he maintained a low profile, all of that changed on the 8th of April,when he started participating in active battles.. As you can see he became an active EDEN soldier. He fought for the USA, Croatia, Greece, Romania and South Africa, and always fought against Phoenix countries: Serbia, Hungary, Indonesia, Bulgaria, Turkey and Brazil. He even fought in Liaoning helping the USA
There are 2 possibilities:
1. Moonlightshadow returned between us and by leaving the Erep team he is again a regular player. In this case I welcome him and hope to see him 1 on 1 in the V2 battlefield.
2. Moonlightshadow is still a member of the Erepublik Team. In this case all I have to say is "Bad Admin!". The neutrality of the eRep Team is seriously breached and this would explain why they are not writing about major Phoenix victories, as long as the person who writes those article fights every day against Phoenix.
I hope he will come front and dissipate the doubt that is cast upon him and the Erep Team.

I agree. It is shady when the admin team plays the game for more than debugging purposes. It's hard for them to be objective. Admin should stay out of wars and politics of all countries.

I know that...I just wanted to express an opinion, that there are different shades of gray and that one should always consider the "big picture".

And this is the best case scenarion, where the guy stats clean. I do play a little game where the admins bomb their RL friends with tons of in-game money. Funny thing is Romanians (many playing this game also) agree there that admins should stay admins, and not play the game also.

Being a software developer myself, i can imagine how it is for somebody to compete in something i code. Impossible. Admins shouldn't play their own games, simple as that. Just like how those working for lotteries can not participate in them.

Admins, like clawy said, are payed erepublik staff members that code the game and know how it works. They should never ever be involved in any political or military issue...
Someone said that MNS even criticizes the Romanian politics. Should we interpret this as the erepublik development staff members are deliberately influencing countries politics and internal functioning?! - You see, there is a line, and this line was crossed!

As for Moon, i don't know how far his knowledge of the game goes. I expect that it is very deep. Anyhow, somebody on the payroll of the game should not play it. My opinion of course.

Well in case you haven't noticed, the victory in Liaoning was indeed noted by the admin. It just doesn't deserve an article of it's own because nothing changed, unlike what happened in Heilongjiang. Same goes with Rhone Alps, a fine battle indeed but it didn't change anything as Eden still occupies it.

Oh gosh. So one EDEN admin vs all PHX admins? really now. hold your horses.
Frankly I wouldn't care if the admins played eRepublik. As long as they don't get any benefits, they have the right to have fun. If the admins would want us to win, you wouldn't have kept LK for so long. He's just a normal player that fights normally and doesn't use any admin advantages.
And they did mention your every major victory lately, unfortunately the number isn't that noticeable.

How can you make decisions about what's best for a community if you do not know what the game is about ?

If Moon is getting fights in a battle that is great ..maybe he sees that all those complaints about servers being slow are really true (to the EREP's team credit : I have not seen the headless chicken for quite some time ).
So ..even if Moon is on the payroll of ER the benefits to the community (including Phoenix ) of Moon actively playing are great .
Do you prefer a slow server because nobody believes the "always complaining customers" ,or do you prefer somebody on ER's payroll checking that out in the REAL environment ? Even if the damage goes against Phoenix .
It would be unethical if it is true. Not because knowing game secrets, but because aligned to one part of players as an admin (even unconsciously) and being biassed is bad for all the players.

Anyway, I personally advocate a fully objective Insider, writing articles with >insider< information. Not war reports that are written ten times better by many many players in this game and will only cause riots like this.
That opinion however did cost me a ban, as somehow my (advisory) criticism wasn't appreciated. (and the subsequent ban appeal wasn't even read )

Zoli, there has been a change in the management of eRepublik community team.
And the new Community Manager asked players to fight in battles to feel themselve how hard is sometimes to hit the wall 5 times.

As you know, game moderators have the right to play the game as they want to. As for the game admins, the eRepublik team it's not made by just me and xtasia. There are admins playing this game for two years, from testing department, from coding, from design etc. Of course they NEED to play the game, so that they actually see where the problems are, what can be improved, etc. Unlucky me, I was an active player, so you know me. I choose to live outside Romanian borders, for reasons which you might actually foresee, and USA was my only english-option. But don't worry, other colleagues are located in phoenix nations, so overall the small damage made by admins in eden is neutralized by the damage done in phoenix. That was the problem? Or you have observed that anti-admin articles are always- ALWAYS!- bringing huge popularity?

There was no large battle, you just overpowered china (who had less then 3000 citizens at the time). to be more specific, a victory must display strength(win a large battle) honor (beat a worthy enemy) and be a large and significant victory (like taking a high iron region). Battles where EDEN and PHOENIX trade large amounts of gold don't cut it.

- professional management does NOT only come via admin - gamers. Cooking is different, made by the cook hereby called admin!
' Taste-spotting ' , ' foot taste ' , ' wine taste ' inspection, valuing are made by different people who's job is to criticize the quality of what is cooked.
So in this case the best option is for the executive level of this game platform owners - managers, is to cancel the recent moderating and admin authorities and hire direct-reporting MYSTERY ACCOUNTS by providing them average accounts, and giving them objective based missions to test and report.And via another supervisor for cross inspection you can measure how satisfying results feedback you receive from these mystery accounts
These guys might be hired whether with permanent payrolls and/or project-mission based temporary employees.believe me your payroll cost versus revenue and overall operational expenses would not increase more than now and the gross operational profit would remain at least same if not increase.
The things are not objective, you fail ( not the required performance/respond )even to apply your own rules ( check my last ticket ). Things has to be changed if you want to provide a HONEST, OBJECTIVE, RULES BASED GAME.
No Human can be objective, this is not critics it is just instinct.It is not about Moon or Xtasia or any admin else, is about the way of doing the things.
You do the right thing ( by creating such a nice game platform and developing it), but you do the things not in a right way.
1. The record breaking Central Hungary battles would have deserved an EI article, we all know that.

@Moonlightshadow: I do have to agree with Zoli here in the sense that admins, and preferably the citizen moderators as well, should not do anything that would even remotely imply bias in the game.
It's just not professional. This article, and the many more to come, should tell you that people will never trust the authority enough to allow them to influence the game world itself as they please. You might very well be neutral in your mind but the users will not see it that way.
There's absolutely no reason why you paid admins working for the company should ever be allowed to play the game at the same time. Use fake accounts to do it, if you must. Your old citizen accounts can wait until you are no longer an admin. The desire to get few fights in or apply for offices is not worth the environment of distrust it creates.
Zoli, an admin should understand the product like an ordinary player. How do you think this could happen if they stay in the box?

And Hellokitty. I am a relatively young player but HK was always like a legendary fortress, unconquerable. If I were you I would be pleased that one nation, one region triggers so much emotion in whole world.
And LK was an impressive battle, congrats for Serbian for such a marvelous damage. But it saved the status quo only. The players are enjoying battle in theirs newspaper, because it was huge. But it would be funny if admin would write article to just say "Hey, nothing changed" Don't you think?
