Why I’m a Fed
Duncan Crowe
Fellow eAmericans,
eRepublik is defined by its politics, and the wars that occur are a direct result of those politics. It's impossible to ignore that this is a very political game, and you can't play the game without playing politics.
Thus, any political party will define your journey through the game. Some are more politically driven, others focus on fostering a community, and some even disregard the module in favor of something else entirely.
When I joined the game in early September of 2012, I knew nothing of how my political journey was going to end, or where I would be in a few years, or what I was going to do, but I knew that there was one place that I wanted to begin my eLife: The Feds.
While criticized for their "hollow" numbers, the lack of ability to bring in votes that match their numbers, the Feds offered something, to me, that no other party offered at the time, in my opinion of course.
What they offered, and still offer, is a community to get involved it. It doesn't matter if you happen to be the oldest player in the world, or the youngest newb ever, the Feds will welcome you with open arms.
This is what happened to me. Becoming involved in the Feds with legends such as fingerguns, and Jefferson Locke, to name but a couple, was something that still defines my political life. And becoming involved with a forum that averages 9,000 posts monthly was, and still is, awesome.
With the support and mentorship of older, distinguished eFeds, as well as an active community, I quickly became involved within a party that allowed those who wanted to succeed the opportunity to do so. Just a few months after active posting and the like, I rose to the role of PP.
While this may not be unique to the Feds, I feel it speaks on the type of meritocracy that exists within the Feds. One recent example I can look towards is the PP of EnterAwesome, who became PP as a relatively new player that worked hard to get the spot, and was supported on her journey.
This meritocratic community is what the Feds boast, something that I believe is a pinnacle of eUSA, where the fun of playing eRepublik hasn't died just yet, and you can still have the opportunity to have fun.
At the end of the day, players will find their own fun in the little game that we call eRepublik, whether it be in politics, military leadership, or writing articles.
However, the Feds offer something different, the Feds offer players, kind players, supportive players, involved within a meritocratic community. And that, eAmerica, is why I'm a Fed.

Idk if JLO was around long enough to be considered a legendary Fed, but he was a good guy to work with nonetheless
