Is the freedom fighter medal flawed? In my minute experience and insignificant opinion, I’d have to say that the much acclaimed FF medal is biased. Favoring neutral, non-affiliated eNations, or our much-maligned enemies. Furthermore, alliances around us seem to be crumbling as we speak leaving us unsure of where to get these so-called FF medals.
With membership in the “TWO” alliance deeming the wiser decision for many eNations. The question we must ask ourselves is, do the constituents of this 19-member alliance have any Resistance Wars worth fighting? In other words, citizens of the non-affiliated eNations have the most to gain regarding this elusive medal.
Should we as citizens and affiliated members show belligerence and join whichever RW that suits our fancy, not caring of the repercussions this might cause? Not a chance, most citizens would be too concerned of the scorn that would follow them afterwards.
Therefore, a change is needed a minor tweak. I for one would like to propose the addition of an in-game functionality that would allow citizens the option of omitting their in-game name for “Double Agent” status in the RW campaign statistic reports. Game masters could also spice things up, by allowing the passing of this very private information to one potential citizen -- if the price is right.

Its designed to give small nations the chance to break free, or long term occupied nations. It encourages the fighting against an alliance. The only way to get around that is to encourage people to take pride in the alliance as a whole as well as their nation.
If you want a FF medal, jump into a RW that's already at 70+ to ❤0 and get your kills in real quick before it ends, then it doesn't matter if you're fighting for your enemies, they're going to win anyway. Then use the gold you get to make yourself stronger so that when your allies need help you can actually make a difference.
true...did not think of it that way, thanks. luckily i was able to get an ff medal fighting for a neutral eNation.
I think your argument is flawed. The determination and FF features were introduced to prevent the long term stalemates that happen when very powerful nations occupy lesser nations.
With determination there comes a point where the RW is unable to be defended by the invader. In those circumstances even some citizens of that country will fight against themselves to get the medal. We saw this with Polish citizens fighting to free France when the FF was introduced and France had 6x determination.
I think it works fine as is. If people are worried about scorn then they don't have to fight in wars that go against their country's interests.
I agree with your first paragraph, and will take your second with a grain of salt. The third sort of backs my argument regarding lack of RW’s for alliances like TWO.
It may not be perfect but it has opened up the game a bit. It possibly hasn't had quite the impact that Plato intended but it has slightly improved the balance.
yes, no doubt it has.
