White House Press Release- Jan 17.

Day 1,154, 23:00 Published in USA USA by James S. Brady Press Room

Dear people who are reading this and have no life,

Hello, I hope you are all having a grand day sitting around doing absolutely nothing. Forgive us for not releasing an article as of late, but this week we have been having our annual White House Gold Party. This is where members of the cabinet take tax payer gold and spend it on improving their citizens, just kidding. However, the WHPR is under new management and I would like to introduce myself. My name is Gulden Draak and you might know me from such things as writing drunk articles, being Vice President that one time, and being that creepy guy that hangs out under the bridge in your hometown. For the remainder of this administration, I will be your press guide informing you of all the happenings in the government. We are quickly approaching the midway point of this administration, but there are still several things that this cabinet would like to try and accomplish. So sit tight, fun times are on the way.

The Economic Downturn

As you should know by now, the nation and rest of the eWorld for that matter is in a state of economic decline. This decline resulted from the new company rules that were proposed by the admins, that allowed company owners to work at all of the companies they owned. What happened next was that we had a surplus of goods on the market so the supplies outweighed the demand. Prices then fell, and likewise so did all of our wages. Though it may not seem so, relative to other nations, the eUSA has handled this economic downturn very well. Wages and the value of our currency have begun to steadily rise and this is thanks to the great minds we have on the Economic Council as well as several others. However, we understand that most of the nation is still hurting from the economic downturn, but rest assured that the Economic Council is hard at work trying to guide us through this rough spot and into greener pastures. So for the time being, just sit tight my fellow Americans and we will be out of this soon.

To Arms America

Are you a US citizen who is under level 21? Do you work in the United States, but are not apart of the military? Would you like to receive free food for battles to help improve your character? Well the government has just the opportunity for you, it is called Arm America. Arm America seeks to provide citizens with food for battles so that they can improve their citizens rankings and in turn improve America. If you are under level 21 you can apply to receive free stuff by filling out this form and sign this thread on the forums. If you are over level 21, there are still opportunities for you to get free stuff through the use of IRC. #defense is the Arm America channel on IRC and during important battles, free food will be given out. So when you are on IRC, idle in #defense and who knows you might just get some free food.

Now for some fun

The following is written by Justin McCravok

You see America, there's this thing in life called "Fun". Usually, to get this "fun" in our lives that each of us wants oh so badly, we watch movies, or for the normal eRepublik player, we play games. Modern Warfare, Battlefield, Need for Speed...great, fun games. But, of course, how can we forget about the fun that is eRepublik?

Yeah, that was sarcasm. Can someone please explain to me why a game that some of us spend 20x longer playing then any other game can be the least fun of them all? How does that work, exactly, and why do we keep putting ourselves through with this crap?

America, it's called an addiction. Whether you deny it or not, a lot of us are addicted to eRepublik. It's no fun...no, it's no fun at all. It’s like smoking but without any of the risk factors. It’s just terrible. Plain awful.

Why can't we change the game, America, and actually do something cool with what we have? Why can't we actually make a game that we spend so much time on fun? I think we can, and it all starts with the Department of Fun. Right now, the Department of Fun is running three single-person contests worth over 20 Gold in Prizes. Mainly funded by the Interior with a little backing from CRoy, our goal is to actually have a good time, maybe spice things up in eRepublik. God forbid we actually make a game entertaining.

The contests and details can be found by clicking here. Do your part my fellow American citizens, and have some fun. Message Paul Proteus or the Department of Fun org to submit your entries to the contests, and maybe you can win some change to buy those strippers that you’ve always wanted.

Well that is all I have for now, please remember to vote and sub. Until next time.....

Stay thirsty my friends,

Gulden Draak
