What Party Should I Join?

Day 5,642, 13:33 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Mr Immanuel Kant

Introduction
Contrary to popular belief I am back. I don't have a life but I am alive on a computer game. I have been happy for 6 months but when the crippling depression came back I logged back into this game. So the question remains which political party should I join?

My Past
I have been a member of many political parties in a wide range of countries during my many years playing this wretched game.

My happiest memories in the UK was being a member of Every Single One (ESO). During the days of ESO, this is now a historic party which when I lead it was dedicated to fun and activity. We used to have the MIK 24 hour rule, where if there was any post on the party newsfeed older than a day I would be very darn cross indeed. This cocktail of fear and psychological pressure created activity.

The primary focus for the party wasn't politically inspired boners our main objective was to play the best part of the game - people: playing with people can be fun. The one thing you could never replicate about that time is the absolute lunatics that made up the party. During those days ESO was not where this community ended we were also part of a wider Political 'Military' Grouping called Nifty. This connected those deemed to be nifty enough from across parties to have fun and cause some friendly orchestrated chaos along the way.

After spending some time as a Constitutional Dictator in another country I returned to the UK and both ESO and nifty had quieted down (I am still most cross regarding the 24 hour rule).

I joined the newest political Party in the eUK the People's Unity Party (PUP), this was a merger between the People's Communist Party (PCP) and The Unity Party (PUP). With my talent, humour, charm and ungodly amount of bribery I soon became Party President. My first act was to abolish and rename the Party. Can you blame me? PUP sounds like a group for humans who get turned on dressing up as dogs (not judging, I'm Welsh after all). Many people disagreed with the name change but they are all dead now and I'm not.

After Re-Founding The Unity Party I remained for many years a member of TUP, serving as Party President, Vice President, Spokesperson, Congress Member, Country President and Chief Pimp. Surely with all this behind me it would be obvious as to which party I would rejoin.

My Present
I know many of you are filled with such suspense you are leaking in your already stained overalls. I have decided to join the Spamicans and not just because Chaz has promised to release wife unharmed.

I have served for many years in TUP and hugely respect many there. But the one thing is painfully obvious the coalition of TUP/UKRP/WRP electing the same person continually is tediously dull. As good as Huey is (I've served under him in governments and voted for him) having one candidate every month will and already is killing the game.

We need to ask ourselves the question - How do we get people logging in? The reason I stopped logging in was because after 5 days of not logging in I thought what would change if I didn't play? When I left Huey was CP, Apples was vCP, TUP was the largest Party, UKRP was the second largest Party, Keith was leader of TUP, Certactio was PP of UKRP. What's changed in the 6 months I was away? Certactio has six more congress medals that is literally it. Six months of me not playing and everything is still the same if you cannot see the problem you probably worked for top of the pops during the 70's. Because you are blind to what is happening.

How does this inspire anyone to play the game? Why should any of us log in? Where is the competition and excitement where is the community? Some might call it stable leadership but if I was told by an intensive care doctor that my wife was in a stable condition I'd not be too overjoyed (I wouldn't get the life insurance money). There's only so many times we can read the same articles on a loop: Congress election results, Congress History, (occasionally) Country President Manifesto, List of who's dead and those periodic 'Join my new party' by a 2 day old account. Surely we can do better and if we can't do better then get the Kool-aid out because its already over.

Is there any reason to log into a political game where there is only one political candidate and the same congress faces time and time again. Playing Erepublik or living in North Korea are basically the same. It is only healthy to have a breath of activity into the staleness and predictability of this game.

There is only one thing that has changed in this game since I've been gone and that is the exciting prospect of a new party and a brand new community drawn from every party in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to do something different to try and kickstart activity and fun in the UK. Why would I not want to be part of that? Why would you not want to be part of that?

However, just like my old ESO days parties are not everything (I don't get invited to them anyway) regardless of whatever party (or none) you are in all of our focus' must be to build friendly competition, brutal brotherly banter and community. Only when we do this can we make the most of this game.

My future
So what's my future? In the Future I wish to clear my gambling debts (just a few lucky spins and I'm there) and be formally recognised as the Mistress of the eUK but more than anything else I want to have fun, make friends and have some banter and friendly rivalry.

Agree with me? Disagree with me comment, write an article, post a joke. Whatever you do: be you and be active.

In Activity,
MIK
