Well. What about this election then?

Just looking at the Congress Election results. What do people think of the new format? Maybe it will breathe some life into ePolitics by encouraging Parties to compete on policy issues. It seems to put a lot of power into the hands of the Party Presidents. PP elections are going to be critically important. Until now, a PP could endorse a CP candidate and screw around with the Party name and that was about it. Party hacks will do well too, possibly at the expense of popular/talented independents who would have "bed & breakfasted" in a top 5 Party at election time. Multies will proliferate. No doubt there will be suspicious migrations once a month as Parties jockey to stay in the top 5. I think I preferred it the way it was. I don't like the idea of five PPs having the power to divvy out all the seats in Congress between them.

I agree. I don't want to please some annoying PP to be put on a favorable position on a damn party list. I would rather have to convince 6-7 people to vote for me. I have no idea who comes up with changes in the game but it all seems absolutely random.
I think there is no reason to allow only first five parties to election anymore. This change may balance increased power of PPs.
it was the most boring election since I awoke
meh I like the change. Brings a new strategy to things that doesnt involve staying up until 1 minute before reset trying to screw people out of their spot.
WoW , Good to see you scribe again James .btw I have the same TV ; ) and cat........ , HEY !!!!!!!!!!! Watcha doin taking photos of my home .
@Luminara Good idea , so good we're almost sure to never see it happen
4 of the 5 top parties issued articles stating what they stand for. I think that is great, hopefully we will see a diffrentiation in parties. I like the new system.
It's good as long as the PPs are trustworthy
Don't care much for the new system honestly. The best candidates should be elected, not just pals of PP's (not saying this happened this election, but it's set up for that to be the case in the future).
The new system sucks. Part of the enjoyment of the old system was coordinating election night to ensure your maxed the votes available an avoided promoting bed-hoppers and the incompetent. It really did allow the director of elections a chance to look good or like a muppet. It also rewarded people with balls that put their candidature in Denmark (remember that) and get in with 1 vote.
The new system, being a list system dumbs down the dumb game.
Ah Denmark I remember when Bean&teddy and myself got elected there with zero votes between us. Ah good times lol
It is a nice change from the usual elections, makes it more interesting I suppose.
Also nice setup and good to see thats RTE news your watching : P
I got in with 0 votes in Shannon before. I remember the trouble I had to go through when coordinating the elections. This makes everything much easier on the PP.
This system is infinitely better. Just look at the results of who actually got in and compare to previous months. Look at all of the parties that have finally turned up and presented a platform.
The old system was fun to watch but otherwise probably the worst possible electoral process that could ever be devised.
It's a suit issue, so I don't give a flying toss tbh.
However, I'm very interested in how your ginger cat has valentine cards. How cute : ]
I like the system. Until someone figures a way to screw it up for the rest of us.
I see what looks like a Wii in that picture.
No. She's house-trained.
