I wanted to start my article with the quote from Maya Angelou about diversity. For years we have had problems with politics in our small country. Often it escalated in fights between people or political parties. We saw articles appearing in the media about unity and why we should stand united. This has been the situation for years by now, no matter what party was in power. Fighting for your own political ideas means that you want that idea implanted, because you think that is the best for the country. In my opinion that is a form of patriotism as well!
I might not be the first saying this, but I think it is good to have so many different people in our country. It helps the politicians that are in charge to stay sharp and do the best they can. I know countries in the eWorld where the parties are more united, with the same ideas, but where there is a lot of unrest between the people. Also I think it is great that we do not only have RL Dutch, but also people from other countries. As long as they fight with the patriotic heart they are no less Dutch than we are.

I agree. But also listening to other opinions is very important. Sometimes this is more important than your own. If you are willing to listen to others, the result will sometimes be a change in your own opinion. Which is a good thing.

Especially the last part, respect is the important part. But as Spir Tus already stated here above me, listening to others is also very important.
2. Accept all non RL Dutch as REAL Dutch citizens.
Most of the current ingame Dutch citizens, yes. I still believe RL Dutch citizens have higher rights compared to the non-RL citizens.
In my opinion RL Dutch should have no more rights than the non RL Dutch with only very few exceptions: obtaining the positions of Key Keeper, Money Generator, dictator, and commander of the DAF. These should preferably remain in RL Dutch hands, as they could potentially ruin eNL.
All other positions of real power (CP, CM, (d)CoC, gov membership) should be obtainable by anyone that is fit for the job.
Well, I believe we should have the first choice when it comes to determining what happens to the country. People are supposed to play in the country where they are from.
@Garmr: if your opinion is that everyone is supposed to reside in their RL nation, why does the game offer the option to change nationality?
I believe eRep should give the option for fantasy nations. Why should a virtual world consist of the same nations as in real life? We're united here to play a game, and I see no reason why RL should matter too much.
In other words: eNL is not NL. It is already a fantasy nation, of course uniting a lot of the RL NL players. But IMHO we also need to be open-minded about fully accepting others. That's the best way to cooperate with other nations.
You're also quite accepted in the eUSA community if I understand correctly. So whatever position you have there should likewise be available for non-RL-NL players here...
Making people who are willing to contribute not feel quite at home seems simply stupid. So I don't really care too much about their nationality. I do care about their actions.
