The Wild Geese

Day 1,811, 12:48 Published in Ireland Ireland by James Keiller

The Military Unit formerly known as The Malcontents has been re-named The Wild Geese. Now that well known crankyboots, Malbekh, has stood down as Commander, it was felt that the time had come for a new, less grumpy image. Students of Irish History will recall that The Wild Geese refers to Irish soldiers who fought in foreign wars throughout the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. Students of action movies will recall the Wild Geese franchise in which hard-drinking alpha male actors got to play mercenaries. Students of alcholic beverages will be familiar with the whiskey. And the hunters among you will no doubt have taken pot-shots at these harmless creatures in some god-forsaken bog somewhere.

The ethos of the MU remains the same. We wear whatever the hell avatar we like. We sort our own supplies. Generally we fight alongside other eIrish MU's but reserve the right to do our own thing whenever the eIrish government has its silly hat on. We punch way above our weight and new recruits, Field Marshals and up, are always welcome to join eIreland's most laidback, kickass unit.
