It has been a couple of days since the admins last made the hospital change to only recover war wounds. In these couple of days, there has been much complaining. I don't want to become one of them, but I suppose just by writing this article, I am.
Cost
The first thing you will notice different from before and after the hospital change is the price of food and houses. Food has gone down dramatically, Q1 food selling for scrap change found in your couch. The change, has, however made Q3, Q4 and Q5 foods semi-profitable. This essentially means if you are a food company, Q1 will get you bankrupt in no time.
The decrease of food cost has made grain even less expensive, the lowest is around 0.13 CAD. That means Q1 food companies are making .12 CAD profit for every food sale, a laughable profit.
Another area affected by the change is the housing market. Houses are disappearing off the market very quickly, as citizens cannot just rely on hospitals now. In the past few days, I've watched as 2 companies selling Q1 houses, 1 Q2 company selling houses, and 3 Q5 companies selling houses has turned into one company selling Q1 houses (with limited stock) as of today. Supply does not meet demand!!
Conclusion
In conclusion, many citizens (especially citizens that were born just before the change to citizens born with 100 wellness) have been affected by the hospital change. Food is close to worthless, which makes grain worth less. Houses are disappearing from the market and supply is not meeting demand anywhere. We might be in for tough times if things are not done, Canada!

Yep, it's not nearly as cheap or easy to maintain wellness as it used to be.

The idea behind the hospital change, at least as far as I understand it, was to answer the complaints of food company owners who said too many citizens were healing at the hospital instead of eating. In theory, forcing us to buy food, especially higher Q food, should have increased profits. It seems you're saying it's the Q1 companies having the problem, right?
Perhaps new players are quickly catching onto the fact that working and training each day removes more wellness than Q1 food can replace. Therefore, Q1 companies need to make a decision ... shut down and wait until v2 to see if they can somehow adjust CPs in such a way as to make their product desirable and profitable or invest whatever they need for an upgrade even if that's rl money. There are risks in business ownership. I've let several businesses go fallow until I better understand what opportunities lie ahead.
As I understand it, we have been in tough times for a while.
Every citizen should have already had a house. It should be one of the first things you buy in this game, at least until V2, depending on the changes it brings. As an aside, houses only return health to you if you also eat. No food means the house doesn't work either.
Q1 companies in almost all fields are considered to be money losers. I myself don't have the evidence of that, but I have read it a hundred times, and never seen a serious rebuttal to it.
I would be fairly confident that Q1 food companies in the future with V2 will be able to produce food that returns the wellness from training and working to you in one day. How they will handle happiness as well, I don't know. Perhaps Q1 food will be able to do one well, or both okay. That seems the most likely to me.
When I joined this game way back when, the welcome message I believe it was, actually stated that it was a good idea NOT to buy Q1 food, as it would not allow you to train and work in a single day, and that Q2 food should be at least what you angle for. Should come as no surprise then that Q1 food would be having problems then.
what a nonsense article. Take a look around, the wages are going up because of the increase in demand.
Q4 food prices are increasing, grain prices will increase soon.

In the past there was no demand...but now there is and you call that a bad thing?
What a nonsense reply. At the time this article was written, wages were not increased and food and grain was at an all time low.
