The Brolliance, what it was, where it is now, and where we can go from here.

What the brolliance was...


The term Brolliance refers to the close relationship between Canada and the United States, especially during World War III. The word "Brolliance" is a combination of both the words brother and alliance. Since then, it has been used many times and was solidified as an actual alliance by the contract below. Later on, it was expanded to include Australia, Ireland and Japan shortly before the United States seceded from EDEN.
Fortis
Fortis is no longer an alliance in existence. Due to other potential members opting out, and having only the USA and Canada as members, Fortis eventually gave way to the Brolliance.
Alliance Contract
Main Article: Contract of the Brolliance

The contract for the Brolliance was written by a former President of the US, Emerick, and then signed by the presidents of both countries, with Gaius Julius representing the USA, and Jacobi representing Canada. Although it was written with a comical style, it was a lawful contract that was in effect, until the ruling by the Admin invalidated all national contracts not signed by all elected congress members.

Where the brolliance is…


That’s right the Brolliance at this point in time is a non-factor in this game, and quite frankly I think it’s a little sad. The whole concept of the Brolliance (at least my understanding of it) was to forge a bond with other countries that was about more than just military strategy, a bond founded on the mutual recognition that we were all bro’s, and as such would have each other’s back regardless of the circumstances. I also want to point out how much less communication in the media there is between the Brolliance members there is now as compared to what it was when the brilliance was first conceived. It used to be rare to see a popular article in the eUS media without some canucks chiming in with some sort of bromance joke.
So is there any hope for the Brolliance to ever have some sort of relevant impact on this game? Of course the possibility is always there, alliances Wax and Wane just like most other things, and there may yet be a time where we remember bonds of old and become true Bro’s once more. However without some sort of change in the geopolitical landscape in erepublik I don’t think it has a chance of happening anytime in the near future.
