Dear Readers,
The following statement is from our current president of the Netherlands; NoTie112, containing a declaration of war against eNorway.
Dear citizens of the eNetherlands,
As you all might have noticed by now, a conflict is brewing in Northern Europe, involving our friends and enemies. The country of eNorway has decided to attack our allies in the United Kingdom in an unexpected strike. The eNetherlands will refuse to stand-by and will take up arms. Alliances are being signed with several of our allies, including the United Kingdom and the United States and we'll be declaring war on Norway ourselves, too. As we have a direct border with Norway, we'll be fending off the threat first-hand, which comes with a large responsibility for our eCountry. Though, together with our fellow countrymen & our international allies and friends we'll be a force to reckon with.

The question is, would the UK do something similar for us if we were attacked? If not, then to hell with it. Let them fight their own battles.
nope. They were asked in the past but never did for as long as I play this game. While Norway always helped us and often did more damage in our battles than we did ourselves...
I agree with Shere Medya, we don't need this war right now, this could be very messy and we could lose far more then gained.
It is a great way to win political points with your neighbors like Poland, UK, Germany, and Belgium. Who cares about van Spjick. He is small fish in the international setting. He has a terrible reputation in most countries especially in Germany, Poland, and UK. He is known for BS and I guess it is why Norway fits him. Tonie is a great leader. He is also pragmatic and knows what he is doing. He is not petty and works for the best for eNL. He is using this chance to win some political points with your neighbors and have some fun in the process.
If this is so much about gaining points with neighbours, why is van Spijck continually brought into this?

Yes I see that, it wasn't just meant to you but in general.
None of the three you mention although for some the last one could be a reason.
However I fear the main reason is we're currently under a lot of influence from players that were friends with some players of the UK or were citizens of eUK in the past and that have no knowledge of our more recent (last two years) past in eNL. As several players tend to say when it fits them. Every month erep is like 4 years RL so we're neglecting the last 96 years for something that is said to have been the case more than a century ago.
