SWEDEN TURNS DOWN E-NL

Last monday afternoon, the swedisch turned down e-NL's application to join Asgard.
So where does that leave e-NL , are we now gonna look and see if we can join CoT?
Are there other plans that haven't been revealed yet?
Can e-NL survive without an alliance?

Taking notice of the raging war between Cot & TWO.
Looking at all battlefields TWO is gaining and getting the upperhand.
Maybe this is the time to see if CoT has any interests in e-NL's small fighting force.
Now that they are getting cornered by TWO and our Polish arch-enemies & friends ,they might be pursuaded in accepting us.
At the same time we can prove to them that even a small fighting force like ours can make a significant contribution to their alliance.
For us there aren't that many or none downsides to joining them.
Worsed case scenario is that nothing will change in our beloved country and will stay occupied for a long time to come.
But whats new to that , we got used to that situation.
Another scenario is that in time CoT & TWO will start negotiations to end that war.
Hopefully such a deal will include us also , and we'll get lucky for once and have 1 or maybe 2 regions back in our possesion.
Scenario 3 is that CoT gets overrun by TWO , the war ends and TWO really owns the world.
Which again will change nothing much for us and we're back to RW's again.

So my question is directed to all in this government , governments to be , congressman/woman , ambassador's and citizens.
What are your thoughts about how our future should be like and do you have any plans???

My personal opinion is that we should have a go at it and see where it's gonna take us.
Waiting on the sidelines isn't a profitable one as we all know by now.

The Swedes also turned down Ireland. Obviously Sweden don't want Asgard to succeed. Solution? Kick Sweden out of Asgard.

If I read the comments for the referendum correctly the main reason will be that they are afraid to get the pink as an enemy...

The facts, imo, are that ASGARD isn't developing the way it was looking when we quit EDEN. It's spiraling down it would seem since ARG didn't join and ireland was turned down.
CoT isn't that strong either and being pushed back but still the better choice above ASGARD.
NaN is actually nothing really.
That leaves TWO who are most likely not an option to most people. If they would even want us.
The future? The only future that has a chance is a worldwide anti TWO alliance. Perhaps they will stand a chance, otherwise for short and mid term the game is doomed balance of power wise...

I've seen some comments on articles now that I live in Norway. Things like "The Netherlands is weak and probably just leave the alliance when we don't help them in their war."

which is most likely the case if people with short term vision are in a place to take decisions. We had a lot of people complaining that EDEN wasn't supporting us in RW's. Partly true as there were more important battles if you look at the larger picture but also because the pink would never give us our oil back. A RW, sadly enough, was then and now still without a change. Even with all of EDEN fighting. Complaining about lack of support was the result, mostly from people that don't comprehend the balances of the game to the right extend. That will happen again, no matter which alliance we're in...

Bottom line is: why would they take us in?
From how I see it, the gains of doing so are outweighed by the risks.

I agree with ElGorro though, there's not much official communication about this,
lots of questions are left unanswered and open to speculation.

I agree with this. The only way we would join an alliance is we can benefit from it as much as we the alliance can benefit from us. What do we want as a country? Liberation. In order to liberate us, Poland needs to be kicked out. This would mean an all-out war with Poland, which Asgard likely cannot afford, let alone win. In that light, what does Asgard have to offer for us? Nothing. I think the choice of rejecting the Netherlands was a good one, until avoiding Poland is no longer an option.

It is only logical. We are weak, and have powerful enemies, neither of which we can fix on our own in short term. We are not a terribly desirable country to have an alliance with.

We can only fix the problem of being weak by obtaining more Dutch Citizens. Recruitment efforts are low, and I can't blame anyone because this game pretty much sucks. Recruiting anyone who is not Dutch is pointless. Who wants to be a member of a country that is as weak as ours?

We have powerful enemies, which we cannot fix. It is simply a consequence of the location of our country, combined with our inherent lack of population.

But don't get me wrong, this is not a problem we have to blame ourselves for. The problem is inherent to the setup of eRepublik. Fictional countries, for one, would have been a better layout for the worldmap, as it would have ensured more of an inherent population balance. Fixing the market would help a lot. We may not have a lot of production bonuses as we're completely taken over, but conversely we also don't have many expenses making our taxation much less harsh. If a type of citizenship were allowed were the citizens cannot involve themselves politically, we'd have a much better chance of recovery.

PS. Ik vind dit een goed artikel, maar had graag gezien dat er ook een Nederlandse versie was gepubliceerd. Taaltechnisch zijn we kennelijk ook al bezet gebied...

ja sorry , lieve koekies worden niet gebakken 😉 , verder is t meteen goed voor iedereens taal ontwikkeling .......

Ben niet zo van t vertalen , ik denk of in 't nederlands of engels....... hetzelfde geld voor m'n schrijven ...... 'T is het een of t ander en aangezien het een wereldwijd spel is prefereer ik engels.

Maar als jij je geroepen voelt om een nederlandse vertaling te schrijven "be my geust" en leef je uit zou ik zeggen.

I didn't know about this - trust me eCanada is disgusted by this - Asgard isn't a military alliance, its a little club of pussy suck-ups - we need a new alliance before everyone just gives up on this game
